Set up the copier to the settings you wish to use. In the Utility menue there is an area called "Default Setting" (?) selecting this will give you the current settings as default, here you can also reset to factory defaults

OOPS! Gave you the wrong information there... Just did it on My KM as follows.

Push the Scan button so the scan option screen appears, under scan settings, set it to the default you wish, coliur, file type, resolution, etc.

Then on the panel, push the "Utility" button, in that screen select "User Settings" and from there select "Intial settings"

At this point you will have 2 options select "current setting". This is also where you set it back to factory defaults.

The same method is used for copying, just begin at the copy screen.

Color image scan produces black and white pdf

This is purely down to the scanner settings. In the scan settings, choose the resolution and if to scan in monochrome (or B&W) or colour. SAVE the settings. Try a rescan and you should find that will work.

My Lexmark P4350 printer is not scanning images to my computer?

To scan a document, please follow the steps given below:

1. Go to "Start," "All Programs," Lexmark 4300 Series, "Lexmark All-in-One Center."
To see how an image will look after it is scanned, click "Preview Now."
2. Click "Scan," "Send scanned image to."
If scanning an image, choose a graphics program such as "Lexmark Photo Editor," "MS Paint," etc.
If you wish to "Scan to OCR," choose a text program such as "MS Word," "WordPad," etc.
Once the image is scanned, the "Abbyy OCR" software will open automatically.
3. To begin the scanning process, click "Scan Now."
4. To view the additional options, click "See More Scan Settings."
To indicate what type of image is being scanned, select the "Option" next to the type of object you are scanning. Your settings will be optimized for that object type.
To indicate how the scan will be used, select the relevant option from the menu. Your resolution and other settings will be optimized based on your selection.
5. To revert back to the normal All-in-One main page, click "Hide Extra Scan Settings."
6. Under "Display Advanced Scan Settings"; you can see change settings, which will affect the outcome of your scan.

Difference between ''Auot Color'' and ''Full Color Mode

Most Colour machines have three settings.

Auto Colour, Machine will determine if the original is Colour or Black and White from its scan. Then print in the format that best suits the original.

Full Colour, Machine will copy in full Colour regardless of Original type.

Black and White, Machine will copy or scan in B & W regardless of original type.

Hope this is of some help.

In the Utility Menu you can set the default settings for most functions. Set the copier to the state you wish it to be in. Under the utility menu there is a default setting button. This will allow you to set the current state to the default as well as reset to factory default.
