what's not letting you, please give exact details. If you have made all the connections as per instructions, open internet explorer on a wired (not wireless) computer connected to the router and type 192.168.2.1 in the address bar to access your router, does this work?

Ok create a new account in the control pannel and and switch on that account to install.
Or if you can log onto the administrator account it will be more efficient
if not you can type the ip of the router and configure it
in the run menu type Eg 192.168.1.1 or EG 192.168.0.1
ok

How do i put a password on my wireless router

There are a couple of answers to this questions.

FIrst off, did your router come with an installation cdrom?

If so you should ber able to do this via the setup utility on the cdrom

If not, which I am guessing is the case, you will have to go to your routers admin page

Go open an internet browser
In the URL Address bar type: 192.168.2.1
Does this bring up the router admin window?

If so you may need a user name / password to get in.

Try username: admin password: admin
username: admin password:leave blank
username: leave blank password: leave blank

MY WIRELESS ROUTER WILL NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET. The lights on the front are flashing. I have installed the modem adn router disk but it still wont work.....

If you have a modem connected to a wireless router that is connected to the computer, turn all the devices off and turn them back on in this order.
1. modem
2. wireless router
3. computer

let the device start up all the way before you start the next device. (I.E. let all the lights on the modem come on before starting the wireless router and let all the lights come on on the wireless router before turning on the computer).

Hope that helps.

You need to buy a wireless router to connect to your laptop. For example the Linksys wifi router it's easy to setup just run the cdrom install in follow the instruction. and also you can setup or configure it by webase configuration of router. Just type to the internet browser IP 192.168.1.1 if the user name appears just type admin and password sometimes admin also or 1234

Always said connectivity/ no access to internet!!

You need to check if the wireless card in your desktop is properly configured. Or try to reset the reset bottom of the router to refresh in go back to his default setup and try to connect. If not working insert the cdrom installer in setup the configuration again of the router.

Netgear 108 wireless usb adaptor

This is a driver problem, it may be windows generic driver that has installed; so if you have already installed the software, uninstall it and remove the adapter. Restart the pc, then insert the cd driver, but don't let it autorun, then re connect adapter and this time when it asks for the driver point windows to look on the cdrom for it instead of allowing the cd to run the installation.
