The cable that connects the MONITOR to the COMPUTER is loose or disconnected. Check the monitor cable at both ends. (not the wireless switch, router or modem).

1
Turn off the 1 (power) switch and disconnect the
video signal cables from the monitor.
2
Turn the monitor on by pressing the 1 (power)

If all four color bars appear (white, red, green, blue), the monitor

Lines on the screen LCD Bravia

There is a circuit board with one or two wide flat ribbon cables coming out of the display screen into the edge of the board. Try disconnecting and reconnecting these cables a few times to re establish a good connection. If this doesn't solve the problem , then get all the numbers you can find on the board and replace it with a new one.

My samsung 940N acts like a florescent tube, tries to start and doesn't

Use the self test feature.. follow the steps..

1. Turn off both your computer and the monitor.
2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer.
3. Turn on the monitor.
If the monitor is functioning properly, you will see a box in the illustration below.
This box appears during normal operation if the video cable becomes disconnected or
damaged.
4. Turn off your monitor and reconnect the video cable; then turn on both your computer and the
monitor.
If your monitor screen remains blank after using the previous procedure, check your video
controller and computer system; your monitor is functioning properly.

Warning

The Power supply inside the monitor can be hazardous and donot open the monitor while power on.

Donot work with the monitor when it is open and the power supply is on.

If there is something wrong with the input signal, a message appears on the screen or the
screen goes blank although the power indicator LED is still on. The message may indicate
that the monitor is out of scan range or that you need to check the signal cable.

Connected set box to component 1 input and gets no sound. Disconnected and reconnected and still no sound. Speakers are on. Plugged of DVD player and had sound.

Are you using all five cables? RED, BLUE, and GREEN for the component video, and a set of RED and WHITE for right and left audio. Also try using the audio line of the set top box feeding a set of PC powered spekers just to verify that the box is putting out audio signals.

Proscan PS50700

Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Technically, when a TV signal is said to be snowy, it indicates that the incoming RF signal is weak; on the other hand, when a TV signal has static, this refers to electrical noise that goes with the TV signal.

Having said that, then to your concern:
  • for snowy signal, it is the cable providers problem. They have to change where your incoming cable is tapped from, check/replace the feedin cable itself or worst case scenario, replace the line amp/distribution amplifier feeding your cable input;
  • for static noise, what is required is to check possible sources which could include (but not be limited to) electronic ballasts of florescent lamps, electric fans, hair dryers, shavers, wireless phones, computers and others.
Additionally, you may want to check if you have any RF producing devices attached to the TV such as VCRs, DVDs, game consoles. You can try unplugging them when not in use.

Worst case scenario is the tuner block of the TV is getting weak (unlikely but possibly). You can try rewiring the cable to feed first into a VCR, connect the VCR to any of the free Video IN, and select channels through the VCR. If significant improvement, then you have just confirmed an internal fault with the TV tuner, if problem persists, then the static/noise/low RF is caused by something else.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
