Question about Air Tools & Compressors
You said it "just stopped". Was this a sudden problem? Does "stopped" mean the pump or motor?Did the motor continue to run during this incident?
Depending on the type of compressor pump, age and hours of service it may simply be worn out. It could be worn rings and cylinder/cylinders, leaking head/manifold gasket or blow back through the valves depending on the type of valves.
But if it's an issue of wear older is definitely not a bad thing when it comes to compressors. Granted there are exceptions to every rule. These exceptions would include compressors made by companies out of business or models that no longer have spare parts made for them.
In order to help you more you are going to have to include a little more info.
Make and model # of the compressor. Did it stop completely, (pump and motor), or was it just the pump would not build any more pressure?
Please respond to me with as much info as you can and I'll do my best to help
