i still cannot make it work. even the green light on the 'on' button stays off. it is like there is no battery in the camera even though there is a fully charged battery in it.

The lens mechanismn may be jammed gently press the lens area while turning on but be careful not to force it or touch the lens itself.
once open a blast of compressed air may be enough to dislodge anyting blocking it.

Lens error; restart camera

Try one of these two fixes, if they dont work for you follow the link below for further troubleshooting.

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Fix #1: Remove the batteries from the camera, wait a few minutes. Put a fresh set of batteries back in (preferably rechargeable NiMH 2500mah or better) and turn the camera on. If that didn't work, try pressing and holding the Function or OK button while turning the camera on.
Fix #2: If the camera's batteries ran down completely while the its lens was still open, the camera may show a lens error or not start properly when new batteries are installed. Remove the memory card and keep it removed, then install the new batteries. When you turn the camera on with the card removed it may come back to life, as this triggers a reset in some cameras. Error E30 (for older Canon's) means that you don't have a memory card installed, so turn it off, slip in the SD card and turn it on one last time

My sd600 does not turn on. i thought it was the battery, so i recharged the battery but it still doesn't turn on. What should i do?

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Battery is recharged and full but camera says to replace battery pack

How old is the battery? It's only meant to last a couple years at most. If it's that age, time to consider a new battery. Fortunately, generic NB-4L batteries are very inexpensive these days. Here's some examples. Just make sure to read the buyer reviews as some generics are better than others.

It doesn't want to turn on for nothing i recharged da battery over nd over nd it still dont want to turn on

I would suggest trying another battery. If still no luck, I'm afraid you have a dead camera. In this case it might be worth selling it for spares on ebay etc.

Lens Error

Remove battery for a minute or two then reinsert and try
If the problem persists recharge the battery fully
Then try if it still persists then there is a possible fault and you should return it to the vendor if under warranty ot contact Canon if out of warranty
Be warned if out of warranty your likely looking buying a new camera

Canon ixus 60

The ixus 60 is also known as the SD600. It's actually quite a good camera. It uses the "NB-4L" battery. You'll need a charger for your camera's battery. Simply remove and place the battery in the charger and plug it in the wall. If you don't have a charger, generic ones are very inexpensive (so are the generic replacement batteries):
