New french door GE fridge that won't stay cold

New french door GE fridge and freezer that won't stay cold. The lights are on and the control panel is lit but the fridge and the freezer are warm. There is no sound from the unit that would make you think it even running.

If " new " is less than 1 year , you will need to call GE factory service , for a warranty repair . If any one else works on it , this will void your complete warranty , and they will charge you for a service call + parts + labor .

The fridge isnt cold but freezer is cold

You might need to have the oxygen added or the compressor replaced. Try switching the mains off for a day and leave all the doors open. This will help the ice build up between the freezer and fridge defrost to allow the cold from the freezer cool the fridge. This a temporary solution and it might give you a month before it builds up again.

Mine had the oxygen added and the compressor changed and it was good as new after that.

Good luck!

Refigerator is freezing food

Hi, this problem is going to be with the running thermostat. It has gone bad and stays open which in turn will keep the compressor running continually. It can normally be located in the control panel inside the fridge. Locate the thermostat and replace it. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!! Water build up on inside of fridge door of ge french door fridge

humid air in the house. any time you open the fridge, house air is sucked in. when you close it, the fridge cools the air and moisture from the warm air condenses on any cold surface. also check to see if there is a gap in the seal.

Warm Fridge Section

sounds like the evaporator fan in the freezer is not moving the air. also there is an air damper door at the top center of the fridge that controls air flow from the freezer to the fridge. check those two components and you will find your problem.

Controls not working in GE Bottom w/french doors.

I have the exact same problem with mine.  I was away for 3 months, left it running. Came back and no display.  Unplugged it & restarted it and it worked for a little while and went out again.

Did you ever get an answer?             I'm wondering about corrosion on the door switch from lack of use, as the display is only supposed to be on when a door is open.  Yours may have been a loose connector from moving it???
