We have 5 Sanyo Katana phones under a Family plan. 3 of them work fine. Last month 1 of them developed an intermittent problem where it would not power up. Sometimes it work work OK. We tried switching batteries & chargers from the other phones but this phone still had the same problem regardless of which battery or charger we used with it. Now a 2nd phone is "dead." It does not work with any of the batteries and its battery works OK with the 3 "good" phones. Furthermore, this "dead" phone does not work either with the battery or even with the charger connected. Battery contacts seem clean.
Any ideas how to get it to work, at least long enough to download the contacts list from it?

I have the same prob just today it stopped vibrating all together. But my phone came all messed up because it didnt have some prgramming codes in it so the sprint pace on the phone had me practactly hack the matrix of my phone. It was pretty interesting, but anyway yeah i have the same prob thinking of upgrading.
I am so sorry you are getting the run around. The manufacturer number is 866 726-9292
Try calling that and let me know what happens The katana is a fairly good phone even though your experience with it has not been the best but good luck with that.
Help!!! I have had Sanyo Katana SCP6600B for about 16 months. My first problem with it arose the other day. The battery ran dry, so I attempted to recharge. After a couple of hours ,I attempted to restart the phone. It wouldn't re-activate. When I plug the phone into the re-charger, it comes on for about five minutes; ( I can call out, retrieve messages , check my contact list , etc.) , and then goes dead. I can only get it going again by unplugging the charger, and then re-connecting it....
So now I have a cell phone which only works when plugged into the mains, and then only temporarily! Not very practical...
Can anyone suggest what is the problem, and if it can be fixed?
If you havn't fiddled with the security code try restoring the phone and if it is not working then open up the phone to acces the camera connector jack or ribbon what so ever refix it after cleaning it will work.
