Not certain on the operating system you are using but if it is XP then here is how to look.

If you right click on My Computer and choose Manage.
In the window that opens, on the left side of the screen in the list, highlight Device Manager. Now on the right side of the screen with device manager highlighted is a list of hardware that is in the machine. Scroll close to the bottom and if you see "Sound, Video and Game controllers" click on the plus sign. It should list your driver here if it is loaded correctly. If it is not loaded you will see yellow icons showing that the audio driver is not loaded.

Hope this helps.

There is a 'sound card' in your computer if you hear sounds. If you don't hear sound is not proof you do not have a card. The 'card' may be integrated onto the motherboard. If so, there will be inputs and outputs for sound on the motherboard. If you have a independent soung card, it will probably be PCI based and the in and out puts will be in an expansion slot.

To get more information, open your device manager and look for the sound device.

I hope this helps. Thanks for osting your quesiton on FixYa.com and please vote.

If there is no sound card. Probably it was disabled the sound and maybe there is no really sound card was installed. To make it short buy a PCI sound card, turn off your computer and install the card to PCI slot and turn on your computer and your computer will detect that there is a found new hardware. Ignore it and insert the cd installer and install the driver of your sound card. If it's ask you to restart just restart your computer to update its system. In case that there is a built in sound on your computer check your motherboard model and search for the driver from their official website and download and install, if you download the correct driver it will automatically installed your sound and your sound will be working. Have a nice day!

No sound card installed

if it says that no sound card is installed yo need the driver for the sound card ..If you have the drivers cd that came with the computer ..just look on it for the sound card ..and run it ...restart and that's all...if you do not have such a cd ..and you need the driver ..you have to let me know the exact make and model of the computer ..and the operation system you use..
In case it is a built computer and it has a separate sound card ...I need to know the model of the sound card ..or...if it is not a brand one like I said ...and the sound card is on the mother board...and you do not have the mother board drivers cd ...(on it will be the driver you need) I can find the driver if you let me know the model of the motherboard ..

No sound my computer. i am instaled the audio driver realtech AC,97 but then open the music file my compter give me answare no sound driver in your computer.

1 Right click my computer.
2 Properties.
3 Hardware.
4 Device manager.
Check you have no yellow asterisks next to any of the sound, video and game controllers, if you have right click and uninstall. Reboot the system wizard should find new hardware and reinstall the driver correctly.
The computer may well be a Compaq but the sound card will be something else i.e., a sound blaster or something you need to know what card it is to get the correct driver.
If the sound has worked previously the computer should still have the correct driver in it and uninstalling and reinstalling should work.
Is the computer a laptop with a built in sound card or a workstation and you are trying to activate a sound card you have installed i.e., not the one built into the motherboard?
Compaq is normally a workstation not a laptop anyway let me know and I will try and advise you further.

Make sure the speakers are hooked up properly and also that the sound card drivers are installed, you can verify this by going into the device manager. The main speaker wire has to be hooked up to the output of the computer sound card.

If the sound card drivers are installed and the speakers are hooked up properly and your still not getting sound, try the speakers on another computer that you know has sound. If the speakers work then its a sound card driver issue on the original computer. If the speakers don't work on another computer then you know the speakers are bad.

Volume error no sound card or mixer

I am assuming that you are referring to a sound card driver, not a sound card itself (can't download hardware). If you know where to get the driver, you can download it with any computer. Just make sure you get the one for the oeprating system you will be installing it on. Simply copy the downloaded driver file to removable media (floppy disk if it is small enough, flash drive, CD, etc) or transfer it over a newtork. If it is an embedded sound controller on the motherboard, you will need to download it from the Packard Bell website. Make sure you get the one for your specific computer model. If it is an add-in card, you may need to get the driver from that manufacturer. Again, you will need to know the specific model of the card to get the proper driver.

Sir my computer name is intel (4) cpu windows xp professnol version 2002 i have sound card but i don't know what kind of my sound driver i want a sound driver software who plays in any kind of sound card

This is quite impossible to provide a single universal audio driver for any computer..

No company has created the drivers yet.

You need to check out what is the sound card installed in the computer and go to the manufacturer website and try to download from there
