Adjust it your self you have a small Black box on it will be 6 controls 3on top for focus R/G/B and on Bottom are 3 screen drive controls R/G/B turn color off on menu then adjust screen drives as close as you can get to a Black and white picture, then go back to menu and turn color back on! with back off clean top of all 3 tube lenses.

Colors on my TV seem to be washed out. Convergence is adjusted OK, brightness/color/tint settings don't seem to make a difference. I seem to have bright halos around all light colored images.

The fluid in the picture tubes needs replaced. It is a job for a professional. It usually costs about $250.00 for the job. You might say it's like giving your set an oil change.

This is a common problem with RP Televisions unfortunately. Usually means the tubes are going out. It can be repaired (usually) but it cost quite a bit to fix unless you could do it yourself (which I don't recommend) If that's not an option I suggest going out and buying a new tv. I recommend and LCD or LED though. Not a plasma or rp

Got our tv in 2004 and we're having the exact same problem. When the blue convergence started going a couple months ago my husband researched the heck out of it and decided it would cost less to just replace the tv with a newer, nicer model rather than repair it. And now, as of last night, we are having the same power issue where the power button goes on, but won't stay on. It just clicks on and off and no sound or picture. Did you ever get yours fixed, or did you end up replacing?

The screen is composed usually of 3 layers and is very expensive becaus it is a lense. I estimate the cost of the screen at 375$ and labor 200$ by a major player.

We have a 52 inch rear projection Mitsubishi not sure of the model number and the picture is starting to go blurry with reds and greens at the bottom of the screen

Here is another similar problem with a Mitsubishi Rear Proj. TV and it has some things to try and an estimate if that is the problem.

"Cost of convergence repair is always around $400"

You could also try messing around in the menu for convergence adjustments. Usually it will let you adjust at 8 points on the screen.

You want fix and cost cost? Well if you have skills of soldering of electronic devices you can do this and you can get the parts from B&D Enterprises; 1-800-458-6053;www.bdent.com. Repairing ityour self will cost you about $50.00 and 2.5 to 3.0 hours of work if all goes well.
If you call an Authorized Sevice Center, that will warranty their repair, it will cost between $300.00 to $600.00.

Convergence images?

The blue picture tube of a projection tv is usually the weakest in ability to focus and in most cases loses its focus ablility before the red and green. Connect a cross-hatch generator to the rf inputs of the unit and check to see which areas are most out of convergence. The corners are usually the worst. HD will always bring out the slightest imperfections. If the unit was totally out of convergence, I would have suggested replacing the convergence IC'S.In my experience with rear projection, your problem is normal wear . You could conceivably improve the picture by adjusting the blue focus on the screen focus block. Scrivitron
