Same problem as mine and unforutunety fix was a replacement motor which drives pump. Bearings were shot in motor. Lots of people have this problem. If you are good at repair you can buy motor on ebay for $60. Impeller will have to be removed inside unit but motor is on bottom. Lots of screws to get to impeller and gaskets will fall out of place. Motor is easy to remove but gaskets are a challenge to get back after replacement. It will fix the problem for at least a while but It is unclear if the seal in the pump has a design problem and threfore allows water gets to the motor. The bearings fail but I do not know why. Bet LG knows but they are not talking. I hope but get no guidance from LG that the replacement of the motor is a permanate fix. Good luck to us all.

Bad motor due to bearing failure. Motor can be replaced with new one but LG does not tell us if it is a improved motor and a permanate fix. Motor appears to be exposed due to a design in the pump that allows water to leak into exposed bearings. My 2005 dated motor failed after 2 years and I replaced with new one from LG bought on Ebay with recent date code. LG is not telling us if motor design has changed or it will be more of same. Motor is on bottom after impeller and pump inside washer is accessed with lots of screws removed in botton inside. That is easy enough but gaskets are bound to fall out and are a challenge to get back in place. As an engineer I question a design that does not protect the bearings in the top of the motor from getting a drop of two of water into the bearings over time. I would have thought that any engineer in the world would know better than to leave bearings exposed like this with such a simple solution at had like a protector between the motor and the pump shaft. I hope I am wrong but I can not find out if my repair was a permanate fix. Other wise LE all over in the the future. Engineer

LE means motor failure. Lots of folks getting this and motor replacement due to faulty bearings is a likely cause. Bearings are exposed to water leaking from pump seal as no protection is provided to keep a few drops of water leaking into the motor at the shaft. Even a simple water stop at the top of the motor would have prevented the bearings from being exposed to an occasional drop of leaking from the pump seal. LG has not yet addressed the problem and IMO failure(S) will continue to occur until design is corrected. To remove the motor you must slide the impeller off the motor shaft inside the dishwasher. Be advised it is left hand thread screw holding the impeller on the shaft. Good luck getting all those gaskets back in place after motor is replaced. .

Got "LE" mark on LED

The 'LE' error message indicates the control board has detected that the motor is either not turning, or has locked up for some reason. Monitoring the motor is the job of the hall effect sensor board which constantly determines the direction and speed of the motor and feeds that information back to the control board. If there is a problem between what the motor should be doing and what the hall effect sensor says the motor is doing, the 'LE' will be displayed and the cycle will be stopped.

This error can sometimes present because of a miscommunication between the control panel and the wash motor. In this instance, the washer simply needs to be reset.

Step 1: Unplug the washing machine.

Step 2: While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for 5 seconds.
Step 3: Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the LE code is cleared.

Please get back to us if you have further query or else please accept the solution.

Thanks for contacting

Only pumps water for a few seconds at start of cycle & then stops with 'LE' error code - have tried a few different cycle settings, but same error code comes up

LE code stands for locked motor error. When this error code appears in your front load washer it indicates a fault in the motor unit.

1 . Check the connections to the Coil/Stator at the rear of the unit possibly it should be something like a broken wire.

2 . Coil/Stator Assembly will be defective preventing the drive to operate. You should go for a replacement of that assembly.

Thank you !!

check the pump filter and if necessary clean it up.
if you stop the programme and hold the start/ pause button for 3-5 sec the programme will cancelled and the drain will work.
if you hear a slow noise from the pump it may be blocked with external objects from your clouthes pocket,

so you need to contact a repairman.
