Question about Kohler K-12176-PB Fairfax Single Handle Kitchen Faucet With Side Spray Poli...

My faucet is barely letting water out. This problem happend over the last couple weeks gradually and now there is hardly any pressure for the water to come out. I have tried to soak the fauset head in vinegar and tried CLR but so far nothing has worked. I am reluctant to buy a new faucet because this one is less than 2 years old and is worth about $200.00 Do you think it can be saved?

If you have checked the head then that is ruled out. I assume that all the other faucets in the house are okay. The problem is in the small passageways inside the faucet, if both the hot and cold are slow then it is probably in the one going to the spout. If you remove the heandle you can often pull the spout up and over the guts of the faucet. Check for an obstruction in the hole going to the spout. Also blow out the spout to make sure that it is free of debris.
Very small amounts of debris can make a faucet very slow.

Please check the aerator first. It may simply have some sedement in it. The aerator is where the water comes out and can usually be unscrewed by hand. If not, wrap with a towel and use a pair of pliers (so not to scratch it). Once off, make sure you take all parts out including washer. Run your water to see if it runs freely. If so, simply clean the aerator, or purchase a new one at a Home Depot type store (about 6 bucks). Make sure you bring the old one with you as there are different types. Good luck

Hot water has great flow. Cold barely drizzles out. NOT a water pressure problem. What/How to check on faucet?

Faucet may have scale desposits on cold water side that would restrict flow. The shut-off valve for the cold may not be opened fully. If a saddle valve for refrigerator ice water was installed, it may block off flow for cold water. Check these items first, then ask more questions.

Water pressure in kitchen and front shower is weak, and it takes a little bit before the water starts getting warm.I put a new faucet in a couple of weeks ago the type where it has all the pluming in t

When water pressure in more than one place is weak, it means that there is some problems in the water pipe/supply. The chance of having problem in faucet/tap is low. I think you need to get a plumber to check the problem. It may be due to water heater problem or cold water supply problem.

When trigger is pulled pressure goes up and down as long as trigger is held

When you start the pressure washer, having the water from the faucet at full pressure, apply pressure to the triger gently....this should allow the system to release the pressure gradually and keep up.....when you pull the trigger full throttle, it can cause the jurking sensation in system. If this does not resolve the problem you may have a bad empeller pump and requires replacement. Do not allow the pressure washer to run for more than a couple of minutes without water flowing thru is as this will burn up the motor )empeller pump). Good luck

The unit starts for a few sec then shuts down.ptg 74.

A couple of things could be happening.

1. There needs to be more water flow at the faucet, a minimum of .75 gallons per minute. Low flow and pressure balance faucets and aerators will not work well with tank-less water heaters. You need all the flow you can get.

2. The flame sensor in the main control unit is week, this is a common issue with your water heater.

Clean the unit to establish adequate water flow. Remove all faucet aerators and turn the faucets on to activate the unit. If you still get the on and off problem you need to call the company for a new flame sensor and/or control valve.

Severely reduced water pressure from lavatory faucet

Take the strainer off the spout and check to see if there is any dirt or rust buildup in the strainer. This happens when repairs have been done. It usually collects at the first place the water comes out of.

Loss of pressure in kitchen faucet - Price Pfister

Your problem is a simple one.

  1. Turn off water to faucet.
  2. Place a towel(s) in the base of the sink(s) to prevent any parts from going down drain.
  3. Remove the handle to the faucet. (single handle only)
  4. If not a single handle then remove spout from faucet.
  5. If a single handle remove cap carefully and any loose parts.
  6. Gently turn spout side to side while lifting to remove.
  7. You will see a hole with a very small valve where the water comes out to the spout on the base of the faucet.

  1. Remove this valve (which is a backflow preventer) and replace.
  2. Reassemble and test.
Problem solved.
