Well I went to my computer clicked my ipod and when the folders came up you go up top to "tools and folder options" and go to the tab that says "view" and click the one that says "show hidden folders." Then click "ipod control" then "Device" and delete the file that says "_lock" or something on that line. If you any questions email me at

My ipod touch 4th generation says -ipod is disabled connect to itunes- tried that and itunes wouldnt open unless unlocked my ipod and i cant. I tried restoring it and itunes said ipod can not be restored...

"iPod is disabled - Connect to iTunes" . This is because someone(or something?) has tried to crack your password too many times, which causes Iphone/Ipod to automatically disable itself to protect your data.

To restore your iPod, you must connect your iPod to iTunes with your iPod connector table. Make sure it is on and has this message when you connect it to your computer. Once connected, iTunes should detect it as usual.

Once connected, make sure you have all the proper sync settings enabled - for example, applications, music, photos, etc. Change something so that the Sync button in the bottom right appears in the iTunes window. Then sync the data.

When syncing is finished, turn on your iPod / iPhone and you should notice that the message is gone. Type in your password and the disabled message should be gone.

If the message is still there, try holding the sleep and home button at the same time until the iPod turns off, then continue holding the sleep and home button until a screen with the iTunes logo and a picture of the connector cable appears. This will put your iPod in Restore mode. With this option, you must click the Restore button in iTunes, which will delete all your data on the iPod.

I pod locked forgot password

Hey buddy,

Do you have the system with iTunes around where you synchronized you iPod? If yes, simply connect your iPod to that system, open the iTune application and disconnect your iPod. This should unlock your iPod.

Let me know if this helps. Thanks!

When we turn it on, the screen shows picture of itunes logo, an up arrow below it and the ipod cable just right below the arrow. And when i connect the ipod to itunes, it says: "...locked with a password....

If the iPod is password protected or if any other device such as a Blackberry etc has a password when connected, to protect the original user it has that safety feature. It is a 4 digit numerical combination, if you can't you have to plug it in and restore it through iTunes and resync all of your files.

I found an ipod and it says connect to itunes and i connected it to itunes and says can not connect to itunes because it has a password on it. how can you change the email?

The email? Why would you change the email? The problem is probably because someone put a password on the iPod. Because you can password-protect your iPod touch. Hope that I helped!

Missing a song

You probably had a Copy Write Protected Song that you were Trying to Transfer. They will not Transfer to the Ipod.
