Sound like horizontal output problem. replace same horizontal output transistor. maybe could help. good luck!

Yes it is definitely time for a new tv. If you live near a populated area just go on your local craigslist and you can get great used televisions for quite cheap. I have seen nice 36" tv's sell for 50$ and less.

there are adjustment knobs located on the pcb for the horizonal and vertical holds. try adjusting these to fix your problem.

Plug in no power


Check the fuse inside the TV. If fuse blows, there is a problem elsewhere.

The initial spark you are mentioning is due to degaussing coil. This is not routed through fuse.

Your colored corners are from a magnetized screen. That disk you talk about is a thermistor and is necessary to clean the screen by demagnetizing the picture tube. Not serious though, hav e a tv tech degauss the screen externally. OH YES! is this disk in good condition or is it separated from one of the legs or broke. You may have to replace it!

A shorted horizontal output transistor or shorted flyback. If the flyback is shorted replace also its HOT.
