There are a couple of things that you can try. first change the program compatibililty mode, (for example: if you installed Nokia PC Suite). >>Right click on your shortcut icon >> select Properties >> On compatibility tab, select the match version. see pic. below.

Cannot used wifi connection

Good day.
What is the operating system? Is it windows vista,7 or XP?
To check if you can connect wireless, please make sure that you have a wireless adapter/card properly installed on your notebook. To do this, please follow the steps below.
For Windows Vista and Windows 7
1.Click Start>Computer>System Properties>Device Manager 2.On Device Manager > look for Network Adapter and click on the arrow to the left 3.Check for any devices installed for example Atheros or Realtek 4.Please make sure that there are no yellow question marks,or punctuation marks on the device listed.

Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing or corrupt. On my Acer Aspire One Netbook doesn't have a disc drive. What do I need to do?

You can actually connect an external device on to your computer like an External DVD drive via a usb cable to fix the problem. Or you can also make a USB Drive bootable with an Operating System such as Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 so that you can just insert it in your Notebook and reinstall your Operating System.

Upon startup before anything else happens (except asking me if I want to press f2 for setup) my aspire one netbook says: For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller... v1.0.0.5(1/22/09) check cable...

This means you should install an Operating System.
If your notebook doesn't have a dvd drive you can install the Operating System with an external drive (dvd, USB flash drive or hard drive). and press F12 when it starts to select the booting device.
Follow the link below to find out how to create a USB flash drive bootable (also works on hard drives):

Firstly visit the website of the MANUFACTURER i.e. LENOVO and download all the drivers and any firmware available for your system and save it on your system and do keep in mind that u choose the correct version of WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM which is installed on the system.

Uninstall all the drivers and then clean temp and prefetch files....

Upgrade vista home premium

As per my knowledge, there is no version of Vista called Vista Professional like in Windows XP.
Make sure what is the version to which you want to upgrade to from Vista Home Premium to Vista Business or Vista Ultimate.
The available versions of Vista Operating Systems along with the features supported from the Link below :
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/compare-editions/default.aspx

However, if you want to Upgrade the current version of Vista to a higher version like Vista Business or Vista Ultimate, you need to purchase Vista Anytime Upgrade kit from any retail store or directly from Microsoft.
You can find the required information related to Anytime Upgrade Kit from the link below :
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/get/anytime-upgrade-overview.aspx

However, make sure that you had created the Recovery Disks for your notebook using which you will be able to reinstall the preinstalled Operating Sytem along with all the Preinstalled Applications and Drivers after which you need to use the Vista Upgrade Kit to upgrade to higher version of Vista.
However, if you are currently having a 32 Bit Vista preinstalled in the Notebook, it is not possible to upgrade to a 64 Bit Vista since you can upgrade only a 32 Bit of Operating System to a higher version of 32 Bit Operating System and a 64 Bit Operating System to a higher version of 64 Bit Operating System.
Hope this helps....

PXE-E61:Media Test Failure

you got that error message because your harddrive isnot detected so it try to boot from network and you don't have OS in the network.

Most of the time is your hdd is dead. In some cases the motherboard is dead.

You can replace your hdd.
for OS (vista vs XP), if you have enough rams and high cpu, you should install vista, but for me, I prefer XP.
for the price, you should call microsoft seller.
