Problem for Siemens SpeedStream Modem (4100) (SS4100)
LAN connection constantly disconnects
Hi there, I am using Siemens speedstream 4100, and every fifteen minutes or so, my LAN connection drops all of the sudden.
During this time period, if I go to command prompt and try to release and renew my IP, it gives me the following message "An error occured while renewing interface local area connection: unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out."
The only way I'm able to get the connection back is if I turn off speedstream and turn it back on.
Does anyone know what might be causing this problem? I would appreciate any assistance you could give me, thank you!

- I am having the same problem. The internet goes out for 1-2 min every morning around the same time. It will do this several times a day at all hours. I lose connection then it restores. Some days this will happen 10+ times. AT&T said it was me and my line is fine. I think they are full of BS. Why does it always happen around the same time, and what would start this problem. I have had no problrm for last year and a half. I am going to try firmware but I feel it is there end. And how do I collect losses from AT&T for this problem. - The 4100 B I have also loses connection and has to be turned off and on to reconnect. I have a D-link DI-524 router which I have updated the firmware on. I running windows XP and 2000 the home network, could the two operating system be causing the problem?- Fire EagleSolution #1

Hi,
Please check with the Internet provider,there is an bug occouring with the exchange server.
Try to put another modem, if you are having the same problem,then it is the your service provider problem.
If no problem try to check the software setting with the first modem.
