You are wrong, I found that if you call IBahn and ask them to turn connect the xbox 360 they will and it is good for 24 hours and have to call again the next day. They activate the system while you are on the phone and has a great connection. thanks for the try though.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, you cannot simply connect your Xbox 360 to the Hotel for it to work. Ibahn Internet will not allow a random device such as a 360 to gain access to its network (for safety reasons I would imagine).

The solution to this requires that you have a laptop or computer, and one of these.

You would have to use the wireless from the adapter with a laptop, and then use the Ethernet on the adapter to connect to the 360. You should then be able to connect that way.

Another possible solution that could save some money but I can't guarantee will work is to just use an Ethernet cable to connect a laptop with wifi and the 360. At that point you might have to open up the network connections and bridge the 360 and the wifi connections.

Hope this helps :)

I am trying to connect to xbox live at a hotel and it says i do not have a sufficient mtu setting. i cant change the mtu setting because it isnt my network and i dont have a modem in the hotel room

Hotel wireless networks are not the best to be playing games on since everyone in the hotel has access to it and slows it down making the internet connection slower and unable to handle online gaming. You will just have to stick to single player games or split screen until you get home.

How to get an internet connection for xbox live

Hello award ward,

To get a wireless internet connection for Xbox live, you will need a high-speed Internet connection such as cable or DSL and a router, gateway, or wireless access point (WAP) that is compatible
with Xbox live. If your XBOX360 console is first generation, you will also need a Xbox 360 wireless networking adapter. If you are using a wired connection, you will need a network cable. Plug the network cable into your router and the other end into your Xbox 360. On your Xbox 360 console, navigate to "MY XBOX" and then select "system settings" Next select "Network settings" and then select "Test Xbox Live connection" Select YES when the prompt appears asking you to update your software. After you become connected, there are two choices: Free membership of Gold membership. Once you are connected, navigate back to "My XBOX" and select your avatar and then select "Join Xbox Live" If you need any more help feel free to contact me. Thank you for using Fixya

Trying to get Xbox live connected...

Follow these steps if you are trying to use a laptop :
1.
Make sure that your XBOX 360 is fully functional and your laptop is connected to the internet by means of a wireless card.
2.
Locate the Ethernet cord and connect it to both the computer and XBOX 360. Don't turn on the XBOX 360 yet.
3.
On your Vista, click "Start" then "Network". After select the tab "Network and Sharing Center." On the left tab, click on "Manage network connections." You will see a Local Area Connection and a Wireless Internet Connection.
4.
Use your mouse to select both icons and right click. Click on Bridge Connections. Turn on your XBOX 360, Sign In, and you will find yourself connected to XBOX LIVE.
5.
Once you are done, and you need to use your computer for other uses. Simply right click on the Bridge Connection and select disable.

Could you tell me in steps how to conect to xbox live

Step 1 Form your Xbox 360 you need to be connected to the Internet by a straight LAN line or wirelessly. You can test you connection by going to the setting screen on your Xbox 360.
  • Step 2 Once connected to the Internet for your Xbox 360 go to your main account screen and find the tab that says "Join Xbox LIVE" click on that link then follow the simple instructions that the Xbox LIVE will provide. At this point you should have a name in mind for your gamer tag.
  • Step 3 Xbox 360 LIVE has several different options available for memberships. They are a monthly, 3-month and 12-month membership accounts. I would recommend a simple one month account if you just wanted to check out the features offered on XBOX 360 LIVE. If your an avid gamer and love to play games online with friends, the 12-month Gold membership is the way to go.
  • Step 4 Once you've completed the process of joining Xbox 360 LIVE, they will send you a confirmation email confirming your membership. Now you can log on to Xbox 360 LIVE and start doing this like customizing your avatar and playing online multi-player games.

I have tried to connect to xbox live

you need to make sure you have enabled ICS, Internet Connection Sharing. To do so, you go in to the internet settings (found in the network sharing centre)choose your net connection, click 'view status' and then click properties (the first of three buttons at the bottom, properties, disable and diagnose) then once the window pops up, there is a sharing tab, check the box that states 'allow other users to connect to this computers internet connection' after that simply dis connect and re connect and the new settings will be able to be used once you do a xbox live network test. Good Luck.

X Box 360 can't connect in hotel room!

I figured it out! I am also in a hotel room with only ethernet...and can connect to the network but not to the internet. When I got onto the internet for the first time on my laptop, there was a hotel internet webpage that came up immediately. You have to click CONNECT for 24hrs; 48; 1 week etc. unfortunately for us, Xbox doesn't have a internet browser like the PS3 does. So we can not click CONNECT when we are attempting to connect on the 360. The only reason why I know this is correct is because my friend brought his PS3 to my hotel room and that hotel connect window popped up and immediately we were playing Modern Warfare 2 with "full bars"...Xbox should really add a download for a browser! Like 360 way more. Sorry guys!
