Dell inspiron 530 desktop won't boot, fan is running, no signal on monitor

It sounds like either your monitor or video card inside the computer is bad.

If the monitor is showing the "No Input Signal" message then the video card inside the computer is bad. The monitor is ok otherwise it would not be able to display the No Input Signal message.

When you plug in the power cord is there any lights whatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of the power cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear the DvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for a second or two? If so the computer is trying to boot or may have booted, but the screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with the laptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issue when you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problem is with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and take note of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, then Press and Hold the power button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in and hit the power button to see if it boots.

Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of the memory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x on it with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the next memory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set it aside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If it boots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and put it into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

So the fan is running, what about the hard drive? Do you hear the hard drive spinning?
If it looks like it booted all the way except the display is blank try the steps below.

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barely see the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves your video card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash light and nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card is bad.
If you don't think the system booted all the way then try the steps below.
Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with the laptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issue when you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. ViewSonic LCD monitor displays "No Signal Digital" message

There is something wrong with the main logic board. The firmware thinks that there is a DVI connector installed. Such problems with other devices are fixed by reflashing the firmware. But I don't see any connector on the board for that purpose. The faulty flash memory chip is marked with "A", meaning there is flashed the "A" firmwre version of all possible versions - probably this with only VGA connector. My suggestions are: try to find similar working logic board. I didn't find any on ebay, but you may find somewhere else. The other option is hard one - to try installing DVI connector on this board. Unfortunatelly we don't know the parameters of the parts needed. There have to be several diods, some capacitors and a transistor, all SMD. There is also a missing 8-legged IC probably connected somehow with the DVI. :(
Just for case carefully inspect the cpu legs for bad solder.

Asrock motherboard chip problem how can display the monitor

Use a PCI-Express graphics card.

Explain the events as they happened in a Comment.

1) Turned the computer on one day, and no display on the monitor?
1a) Was No Signal, or something to that effect shown on the monitor?

2) Have you changed any hardware components lately? Ram Memory?

3) Has the motherboard been installed in a computer, and the problem/s happened,
OR,
Are you installing this motherboard for the first time?

4) Do you have a PCI-Express graphics card, and if so, what is the model name and number?

You just answered your question. The memory chip must be bad or it is the incorrect chip. Try removing the chip and see if it boots up. If it does, teh chip is the problem

Montior in Sleep mode

Take out the newly installed memory chip... If your sure its compatable with the motherboard, reseat it correctly into it's slot and fire up the computer. OR try rebooting with just the old memory installed. Monitor blackouts happen when the incorrect Memory is installed OR when the Memory is not seated properly.
stop chasing video and monitor problems...... :)

MY MONITOR DOES NOT COME ON

Doesn't turn on (power), or will not display anything?

Bad memory chips will cause the display to be inoperable.
I once put PC-2700 chips in a laptop that would only take PC-2100. The chips I received were wrong, but I didn't check before installng them. Anyway, it worked like a champ for about 5 mo. Then the display went out. I could tell that the computer was still operating, so I sent it back for warranty repair. Of course, the chips were aftermarket, so it wasn't covered under warranty, but that was the problem.
