You may to remove more screws from around the complete bottom part of your dishwasher. Have you tried to add Dishwasher Magic to clean the grit and grime out first? Or perhaps if you can't find Dishwasher Magic, we started using Tang Orange Juice powder before the days of the modern prodcuts. The citrus in the powder eats all the tiny food particles away.

In either case, empty all the dishes from the inside, add a cup of Tand or follow the instruction on the box of DW Magic. Run your d/w through a complete cycle.

This should clean your dishwasher out.

Hope this solves your problem.

Dishes on top level are not getting washed, they come out dirty. The washer is filling up to the correct level and gertting enough water. The water intake around the botton washer arm is clean and nothing pluging it up. Is there another filter that needs to be cleaned or do I have a worn out pump. The washer was purchased 8/2005.

How do i remove the bottom center piece that the spray arm came out of?

The arm spins on a tube that is held by a round screw that should only be finger tight. That tube is screwed into a boss on the bottom of the dishwasher. You can do two things.
1. remove the whole lot and then unscrew the top screw by holding the tube with grips and another set of grips on the top screw.

2. Tighten the screw on top until it becomes firm, and then unscrew it.

If the dishes are not coming clean it may be that the jets in the spray bar are clogged with fluff and debris.

Sounds like its not pumping the water through. Have you cleaned the food disposal screen in the bottom of the dishwasher. You need to take the bottom s pinner off then the upper water outlet off by pressing on the clip and turning the water arm to the right. Now there should be 4 torques head screws. Remove them then lift the cover off. It should be the whole center section. No look in the bottom left corner under the cover. There should another cover with one torques screw. Clean the debris off of that and undo the screw. Lift that cover off and you should expose the food disposal screen. Before you remove it look at its location and how its held in place. To remove the screen just pull the disposal blade forward and lift upwards. The blade should be spring loaded to hold it in place. If that screen if full of gunk the water will not circulate properly at all. Now just reassemble and it should be great!!

How do i remove the screen to my Mitsubishi wd-62638

For the model indicated (WD-62638) the entire screen unit needs to be removed.

Some models had two mirrors--the usual large one in back and a tiny one in the bottom front.

1. Locate and remove front plate below screen (where you may access the lamp as most of these are taken out from front)

2. Remove all the screws ON THE BACK OF THE SET around the top and both sides.

3. Remove a plate behind the removed lower front grill and there you should find a set of wires that go to front keyboard.

4. With that done look carefully at either front side below the screen unit---one screw on either side---do not remove but just back them out.

5. 2 person job---the entire screen unit lifts up and out.

6. DO NOT try to clean the large mirror---if touched with hand or your hair it will smudge and it will show in the picture.

7. If the little mirror is there at the bottom---it can be cleaned with glass cleaner---

8. Insert the screen unit back with the two front lower screws supporting it (have someone hold it in place until you line up and install all all the rear and then the 2 front screws.

Let me know if you have questions.

Hi, You pump filter screen is clogged up of you may even actually have something stuck in the pump. Unplug machine, remove the bottom front panel 2-3 screws along the bottom. look for the filter/screen housing next to the pump. place a shallow pan under it. Be prepared for lots if water and debris. Unscrew it slowly to drain then screw it back in to shut off and dump pan repeat until no longer full of water. Remove and clean all debris out screen, housing and hose.

Possible obstruction in drain area

The spray arm will just pull up with a bit of resistance then turn retainer anti-clocwise and pull out filter then check for debris and clean all fine mesh filter screens. But it may be that the debris has got into the pump and caused damage.

Hope this helps.

Bug parts or debris between screen cover and screen.

All from the front. Pull off the bottom speaker grill. No screws just pull straight back. There are rubber post that hold it. Next remove the screws on the bottom of the screen assembly. With them off you should be able to slide the screen assembly up about 1-2 inches and take off. This model does have auto convergence so the screen may have wires hooked to the back. With the power off disconnect the leads before setting the screen assembly down. Cleaning should be with a plastic cleaner not windex. If you do have to remove screen parts it's fairly obvious. Be sure to reassemble the same order and make sure you have help these parts are delicate when separate.

How to take apart the diswasher to clean it

This is a 5 step process.
1 Remove bottom basket. Remove top basket (Pop off 'keepers' at the ends of the slidding shelf supports).
2. Remove bottom washing arm. Unscrew (Gently but firmly) the centre post. Lift arm assembly out.
3. Remove overhear conduit. There is one screw at the back and one at the top (Philips #2 bit). Rotate the whole assembly 45 deg right (Clockwise) and lift off of the centre post. It can be taken apart to clean.
4.Remove centre post (Pull straight up). Remove 4 screws (Star T-20 bit). Lift the whole plastic assembly out. Pop off the screen (Flat blade screwdriver around the edge) and clean.
5. Remove cap over cutter/chopper. There is a single screw at the front left (Under center assembly just removed). Remove screw (Star T-15 bit) and cap (Needs some wiggling to free it up). Remove cutter & filter. It is on a spring loaded pin. Pull the cutter blade foreward and then the filter disc up. Clean thoroughly. Run a 'quick rinse' cycle with everything out, to clean the inside.
