Question about Mitsubishi WS-65908 TV

1 Answer

I have a Mistubishi WS-65908. It was working fine until just a few days ago. The first symptom was the color allignment problem described by others (that is, the "3D-like" coloration of screen images viewed without 3D glasses. Two days later, the audio was not working properly. When playing DVD's, there was either no audio, or the audio was blasting and, in either case the volume control did not work. Then the screen would go black for a while and then the video would appear again. (Also, the blue screen that normally displays while waiting for a DVD disk to be played was black. In going into the menu screen, that would also periodically contract by about 25% on the left side, and the menu screen would turn purple. (The full display was there, but it only covered 75% of the screen.) After a minute or so, it would return to normal and then, after a minute or two, ontract again. I see that the first problem is (potentially) relatively easy to fix - i.e, to resolder the oold/dry solder points (which I assume means removing the old solder before resoldering.) With regard to the other issues, any idea as to what the problem(s) might be? Are they related or separate? Also, given that this is an 8 year old TV, is it worth fixing if a number of components have failed? (Any guestimate of the cost?) Thank you in advance for your advice and help

You still may have some cold solder joints on the circuit board, look to see that a heat sink has a burned out solder joint, and clean and solder it.they do this on the models with some age on them.

Okay so me and my significant other are trying to conceive. We had unprotected sex a few days before my ovulation day and the day after.?

Your early pregnancy test is not going to tell you now if you are pregnant or not. You need to wait until 7 days after your period would usually start to take a pregnancy test, even an early pregnancy test.

The symptoms that you described could be PMS; they could also be brought on by stress (which you might have worrying about if you are pregnant or not); additionally, you mentioned discharge but not what color it is. If the discharge is brown it is old blood that your body is getting rid of; if it's white or yellowish in color it's an infection; if it's pink or red spotting, it could be breakthrough bleeding which might occur instead of your period.

The symptoms you described are also very common with a ******* tract infection. Especially the frequent urination. Have you take an over the counter test for a UTI? I recommend you do that first, before you take another pregnancy test.

I wish you the best of luck, try not to worry. Wait until your period has passed (whether you get it or not) before you start worrying!

No red on mitsubishi ws-65908

DTV is HD input but look to see if red lens is lit====set does have a hard reset which might cure it if it is a issue---it is based at the exact model number, a four digit code and the working Mitsubishi remote control.

Auto convergence no longer works on Mistubishi WS-55807

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit wiith instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms
  • Screen Looks 3-D
  • Colors wont align
  • Screen may look distorted or warped
  • No Audio/Video - makes a chirping sound.
Problem #2

Another common problem is dull or washed out video.
Your TV2_bing.gif may have one or more of the following symptoms....
  • Dull looking picture
  • White looking picture
  • Halos around objects
  • Red/Orange looking picture

You can see some more examples and find a fix here

Mitsubishi WS-65908 Error Code 24

If you have an ohm meter, check the resistance from F9A04 to ground, and then reverse the leads and check F9A05 to ground. These supply +24 and -24 to the convergence integrated circuits. The conv ic's may be bad. Also, code 24 usually indicates vertical deflection failure as well. One other check to make.....The pic tubes on this set may leak a few drops of coolant onto the boards. Look VERY carefully for liquid drops on the boards or a green and or white corrosion spot or two on the boards under the pic tubes-near the front of the chassis.

The fact that removing the front helps does not really means anything but is good that you have notice, the age of the set has a lot to do with the problem,I am sure it has many loose conections that need to be resoldered regarless, all sets have many components that disipate a lot of heat and over the years the solder cracks and it forms a ring ,this makes the set intermiatnt until no conection exist any more and it stops working for good. What does the unit do when it shutsdown? does it show a picture with lines that is red ,green or blue and then it shutsdown? or it just goes off? if it shows you a color like I mention it could be the picture tube of that color and the repair will be expensive but it could also be a loose conection somewhere in the power supply or the deflection panel,If you are familiar with repairs ot TV's you can possible take care of it but if you are not familiar with electronics call a qualified technician.I hope you can use this information.

Mitsubishi prjection screen WS-65908

You have a convergence problem, all this sets show this problem sooner or later, you have 2 or 3 amps for the red, green blue colors and this amps go bad and need to be replaced then you have to do a convergence aligment from the service mode and not form the customer controls,a qualified tech should be able to correct the problem since is a common one.

Projection red is above other colors

Look in your menu for something called "horizontal static convergence" or just "convergence". Adjusting this will align all three tubes electronically. If physical adjustment is needed, then you have to do this manually inside the Tv. keever
