You will have to configure the account in outlook express again and after taht you can get your emails back in outlook because you have upgraded your computer and if you have back up of email then you can also import it. you can also use the link http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/using/howto/oe/setup.mspx go get the help to configure the account in outlook express.

Outlook Express on Acer laptop

If the store is corrupted, you've likely lost the emails unless you have them backed up.

I'm not sure if you can reinstall Outlook Express because it is bundled with Windows XP. You can try using the System File Checker (sfc /SCANNOW) from a command prompt to repair any corrupted WIndows files; I'm not sure if that will fix Outlook Express, but it's worth trying.

How to open .eml files in outlook express?

Thanks Nasir for sharing your solution to the problem it will help anyone else in the future who has the same problem

Nasir wrote
Thank you all for all of your suggestions.
But i found a way out myself.
Just Open Outlook Express and folder in which you had copied your emails.
Then Simply select all the emails and Drag it to Outlook Express.
All of your .eml files will be automatically saved as .dbx in outlook Express.

Thank You

Can't use either Microsoft Live Mail or Lookout Express v6 with Belkin Router. Can't send or receive email Can you tell me what the email setup is for either one? Both email programs probably use the same...

Ask COMCAST for the names of their POP-server and of their MAIL-server, and configure Outlook Express to use those names.

Microsoft Live Mail is "web-based" -- all you need to do is to web-surf to their web-site, login, and click "send/receive" or click "compose" and later "send".

XP Has been uninstalled

Microsoft Outlook Express, Outlook and Outlook Web Access come integrated with Windows XP. You could use any of those email programs instead of Office 2007, or you could purchase Office 2007, the choice is yours.

Email from another computer

ok,if you can access the hard drive of your old computer, try to search for inbox.dbx ,outbox.dbx and so on,include hidden files when searching..outlook express uses .dbx extension to compress its messages, once you have it,you can export it to outlook express of different computer,i dont think it can be read by windos mail caus it might be using a different file extension, try downloading mozilla thunderbird,it reads dbx files..

Transfering mail setup from Windows xp to a windos vista machine with EasySuite

I'm not 100% sure about vista because I hate it but I can help you copy all of your outlook express data to a CD\DVD disk & your address book. Your network settings for express account is a phone call to your ISP.
If vista's explorer is set up like XP you should be able to copy your data into outlook express.
Open all these folders on you XP system.
User name\Application Data\Identities\{xxxxxxx}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
Copy the Outlook Express folder to your CD.
User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book. Copy Address Book folder.
Making sure you have everything.
Open, User name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{xxxxxxx}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
Compair the two Outlook Express folder files. CD will not allow copy of same named folder.
If Vista's lay out is the same as XP than copy Outlook Express folder to Vista.
Suggest you have your current ISP setting /account setup before copying to Vista

Let me know if this works for you!
Good Luck & Kind Regards.

Out Look Express

Outlook and Outlook Express are not the same program, and they are not actually even close to using the same programming.

You cannot import Outlook files into Outlook Express. You can import both into Outlook.

Select File->Import and Export, and then choose "Import from another program or file" then choose either PST file for Outlook or Outlook Express. Select the defaults from then on and browse to where you saved the emails. If you saved the emails correctly it should import them.
