Your OS got a problem. Start your laptop and press F8 then choose boot from SAFE Mode. Then try to uninstall some programs or delete some files. Now re-start.

The toilet refills to the overflow tube and then keeps on pumping water. It won't stop until I press down quickly on the top of the black Phillips-head plastic screw that's labeled "water level...

Hi,
Carefully take a hold of the rod that goes to the ball and bend it so the ball points down further into the tank...this will get the water to stop then before it goes over the top...

If the ball is heavy and is full of water then you need to replace the whole fill valve...

How do you refill the black HP 940 ink cartridges? Where is the hole?

While "Solution #1" is true for the older cartridges like the 96 and 57 (I have filled many), the 940 is completely different.
First of all you turn the cartridge upside down, cut the label in between the 940 and the colored rectangle. This simply allows you to pop the cover off (it will still be held by the back label).
Once open, you will see a stem with a silver ring on top, an oval black rubber plug, and the refill hole with a very small rubber ball plugging it. To refill the cartridge you must get this small rubber ball out. You can you a sewing needle or some other sharp object. Be careful not to damage the plug too much - you must put it back in and it can not have a hole throught it. You fill the cartridge through this "port" once the ball has been removed. Then you put the rubber ball back in - use a ball point pen to push it in so you do not damage it.
If you damage the ball, you can purchase more, but obviously you cannot use this cartridge while you are waiting to get a new ball.

Will not boot... black screen?

Try removing the battery completely and powering it up on AC power. Sometimes a dead battery (even if you're plugged in to AC) will stall a boot-up in its tracks. If this doesn't help, please reply back and let me know if anything changed.

How to take empty cartridges out

1. Cover the outlet hole with the orange outlet seal that came with the cartridge (a rubber band will hold this in place) to prevent ink loss during refilling or with your finger over the outlet port while wearing latex gloves .

2. Use the "L tool" provided to push the Sealing Ball into the cartridge (tap on the 'L tool' if the ball is stuck). If you can't see the ball just above the "push" then peel back the top label on the reservoir side of the cartridge to expose the Sealing Ball. This is the ball Canon used to plug up the hole after they refilled the cartridge.

3. Attach the needle to the syringe and fill with the correct color ink.

4. Slowly inject approximately 13 ml. of Black Ink or 6 ml of Color Ink slowly into the filling hole until the chamber is almost full. Unused ink may be returned to the bottle.

5. Seal the hole using the Green Plug. Put your finger on the green plug and twist until it is seated well in the hole.

6. Remove the orange outlet seal (or your finger) from the outlet hole.

7. Replace the cartridge and run 1 - 3 cleaning cycles as per printer instructions.

8. If you have trouble getting your cartridge to print and the sponge side of the cartridge looks dry then drill a hole (or burn a hole with a hot paper clip) into the top of the sponge side of the cartridge. Stick the syringe needle into the sponge and fill with ink. You do not need to seal this hole.

If you are filling cartridges to use later, leave the orange outlet seal rubber banded onto the cartridge. This will prevent your sponge from drying out.
Note: On the CLI-8 and PGI-5 series cartridges, there is an electronic counter embedded in a small computer chip/board. This counter starts at a high number and decreases for every character printed. Eventually, the counter reaches zero. At this point, an error message is generated by the printer. If you click "OK" to the error message, the printer will continue to print.
If you have trouble getting your printer to print because it thinks the cartridges are empty. Look on your printer for an orange blinking light. This is your reset button, usually the paper feed button also. Hold this button in for 5 seconds until the light goes out. Note: this will not reset the ink level back to full.

Hi
OS means operating System and HDD stands for Hard Disk Drive.
When u turn ur system on is it already black or it shows the bootscreen like ACER logo etc. and then goes black.
If thats the case then ur OS has crashed. Try installing new one.
And if its black right from the start then i think it is a hardware failure.
In any case let me know.
