You may need the element which is #14 in the attached breakdown, part #3387747. OR, it could be a thermostat(s) #47 & 48 come in a thermal cut off kit, part #3977394 and #42 is an internal bias thermostat and the part # is 3976615. hope this helps.

My Whirlpool GEW9868KQ2 dryer is stuck on the towels/cotton setting and will not change to any other setting. Also when i press the stop/cancel button, it wont turn off. Please help!

This is probably due to a stuck button. The only way to fix is to pull the board off and check the buttons manually and/or replace interface control.

Clean light is blinking

On Whirlpool manufactured dishwashers, the blinking clean light is an interruption in the dishwasher program that usually indicates a component problem or program malfunction. If a component is defective, it's usually attributed to the heating cycle or thermostat failure. To rule out component failure, or program error, the following link explains how you may be able to clear the blinking clean light problem and possibly avoid a service call:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575752-dishwasher_blinking_clean_light

Keep in mind all dishwashers are not alike and have different panel options. If you do not have the same set up that I have mentioned, the tech sheet for your dishwasher will explain the touch pad functions. The tech sheet is located behind the lower toe panel under the door and lists the proper sequence of buttons to push for diagnostics and troubleshooting. Just remove the screws that hold the panel in place and remove.

NOTE: Sometimes the tech sheet is located behind the inner door panel. You will need to remove the screws securing the inner panel to access it if this is the case. Make sure you turn off the main power breaker before doing so.

In many cases, I found this to be a momentary glitch in operation. If the problem keeps reoccuring the number of flashes is an indication of WHICH circuit is causing your problem. As all dishwashers differ in operation and features, refer to your tech sheet for the recommended troubleshooting steps.

NOTE: Some dishwashers use the Sani-Rinse/Air Dry combination, some use the Sani-Rinse/Heated Dry combination. Some use a sequence of three, others use a sequence of 5 pushes of the buttons. If the tech sheet is not located behind the lower toe panel, it should be affixed somewhere under the dishwasher. I have also found them located inside the inner door panel. Please post back and let me know if you still need assistance.

Whirlpool dryer MOD: GEW9868KQ2 wont heat. does turn on ok. have the element out see no breaks. Fuse maybe? where is it located?

You have a bad thermal cut-off . This piece , is a small thermostat looking piece , located ( from the front ) farthest back , on the element housing ( containing the element ) , with 2 wires going to it . Pt # 279769 . This part also comes with the hi-limit thermostat , which should also be replaced .

Whirlpool dryer MOD: GEW9868KQ2 - touchpad not working

Sounds like the control panel may be dead. If you cannot get any lights to come on at all on the front panel, its probably a goner. You can check the voltage coming out of the control pc board via the schematic inside the dryer panel. I have this same exact problem. I replaced the control board 3 times because the panel seems fine if i plug it into an external power supply but will not work when plugged into my dryer. I have my jumpered and running off of a circuit breaker.
