When i try and downloand anything it says appdata missing how do i fix

Hi there please go to this website, they would be able to scan your computer and tell you which appdata you are missing. http://www.econsultant.com/dll-database-a/appdata.dll-download.html
don't think this will help but here a definition of appdata:
Definitions of AppData on the Web:
Environment variables are a set of dynamic named values that can affect the way running processes will behave on a computer.

Upgrade for settlers downloads but won't run

I had this issue as well. Download the patch directly from the website, and run it locally. Afterwards the updater won't find a newer patch, and goes directly to the game. I don't know whether this will break again once a new patch is released, but you should be able to manually install it again at that time. Patches can be found at http://www.ubi.com/US/default.aspx under support --> patches.

This link may take you directly to the right place.

this is the resolution i got from trend micro regarding this error. it worked for me, so i thought i should share: I have reviewed your case and I understand that you are getting an error message that says “Unable To Update Your Protection” when updating the Trend Micro Consumer Product. With regard to your concern, this problem happens if there’s a missing component in your computer’s Registry. Let us configure the registry of your computer using the Registry Editor of Windows. Refer to the following. 1. Click on the Start button or the Windows Orb Button. 2. Windows XP: Click on Run then type regedit on the text field then click on the OK button. Windows Vista: Type regedit on the Start Search above the Windows Orb button then press Enter key on your keyboard. And the Registry Editor window will appear. 3. Click on the plus sign (+) or the arrow sign (>) besides HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. 4. Click on the plus sign (+) or the arrow sign (>) besides SOFTWARE. 5. Click on the plus sign (+) or the arrow sign (>) besides CurrentVersion. 8. Click on the plus sign (+) or the arrow sign (>) besides Explorer. 9. Click on the Shell Folders. 10. Look for the Common Appdata entry on the right panel. If there’s a Common Appdata entry on the list: - Double click on the Common Appdata entry and the Edit String window will appear. - Windows XP: Type C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data on the text field under Value Data. Windows Vista: Type c:\ProgramData on the text field under Value Data. - Click on the OK button. If there’s no Common Appdata entry on the list: - Right click on an empty space and options will appear. - Click on New and options will appear. - Click on the String Value option. - Set the name to Common Appdata. - Double click on the Common Appdata entry and the Edit String window will appear. - Windows XP: Type C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data on the text field under Value Data. Windows Vista: Type c:\ProgramData on the text field under Value Data. - Click on the OK button. 11. Close the Registry Editor window. 12. Restart the computer for the changes to take effect. After doing the suggested solutions, you should now be able to update the program successfully.

Smiley's

I found where they are located!!!! YES!!!!

In Vista do this:

First, make hidden folders visible:
- Click the MS 'start' Icon in bottom left
- Click Computer
- Click Organize
- Click Folder and Search Options
- Click View tab
- Click the radio button next to "Show hidden files and folders"

Second, navigate to this directory (if you don't do #1, you can't do this because the AppData folder is hidden):
C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Media

3. Delete the directory "Smileys" inside there.

They are gone!
