Make sure the canister is all the way in and latched (yes this has bit me in the rear a few times). If you grab the handle to the canister (w/o bushing the button) and give it a slight pull and it comes loose, then it was not latched. Push it fully in. The other thing is maybe the vac tubing is clogged. Pull it loose (same way you put it together out of the box new) and look down the tubing and in the U-channel Piece. Remove all obstructions.

The belt might be worn and therefore the brush isn't picking up the way it should. If you haven't replaced the belt recently I would try that. You can get the belt you need here:

Riccar vacuum 8625 vacuums the floors;but does not seem to have suction for the carpets

The belt may look fine but could have lost elasticity. Stretch belts will lose elasticity and should be replaced at least once or twice per year. If the brush strips are worn or frayed it will not pick up properly.

Does not fluff carpet

Hi there,

We are sorry to hear you are dissatisfied with the appearance of your carpet after using your DC07. There are a number of factors that determine how your carpet will look after using your vacuum. If this is new or plush carpeting, it may be less evident that you have vacuumed in the sense that there may not be lines in the carpet. However, if you have not recently changed your flooring, and you have concerns about your machine's performance, we would be happy to trouble shoot with you and we may be able to resolve this over the phone.

At your earliest convenience please call us directly at 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1-866-693-9766 (US). We look forward to speaking with you.

Best wishes,

Jessica

When I move my bottom lever from Floor to Carpet

I cannot express enough you need to clean your dyson as great as it is its still a vaccum. look underneath at roller, clean out tube wash filter and check to see if vaccum ate something which is stuck inside. I have had mine for 4years and still picks up after 2goldens and kids.

Eureka vacuum cleaner

That means that the belt2_bing.gif is starting to wear. When the belt starts to stretch it can't turn the roller brush against the resistance of the carpet and therefore doesn't pick up well. You simply need to change the belt. Here is a link to the belt you need and to the manual:

Dyson o7 animal pick up problems

Hi.

If your machine is A few years old it may need new brush roller fitted.

To check roller for wear lie machine on the floor & pull back head end as if vaccuming carpet.

Now get A rule or straight edge hold this over brush roller & sole plate oppening.

Now rotate brush slowly by hand the bristles of the brush should just kiss the edge of rule. If ther is a gap you will need toreplace the roller.

I need more suction. The Head is too high on my carpet.

Hi.

A slitght adjustment can be made by either screwing on short transparant internal hose on top of floor head tighter or undoing it turn.

Do this on A table as you need to get down to be able to view sole pate movement

Each time you adjust hose stand vac up on the table & pull handle back as if cleaning carpet you must not push head of vac down on the table.

Now look at sole plate usually when they are wrong the sole plate bottom back end tilts up lifting brush from carpet.

Now tap front of head down if sole plate springs back up lifting brush up again adjust hose a bit more.

What you are trying to do is get sole plate as horizontal as you can.

If you really cant get it to pick up dirt any better try fitting new hose they are more sprigier from new,

No suction when carpet cleaning. Also won't stand upright

Its possible that it may be blocked in the foot of the vaccum. try going through your instruction manual to locate details on how to disassemble the suction brush and connecting ducts. If you dont have one then use this link to download it. http://ubermanuals.com/node/1870

Let me know how you got on

Bissell vaccum problem

Could be plugged, check the hose and at the bottom by the brush roll, the inlet maybe clogged. Also check the filter under neath the dirt tank. There are filters above the dirt container, clean those out. If after that it is still loud, then maybe the motor fan or bearins are bad and will have to be replaced, part #2031214 sells for around $55.
