How to connect front panel to acer power s290 motherboard

http://www.ascendtech.us/acer-aspire-sa90-mbs7109002-motherboard_i_mbacembs7109002.aspx

The front of your computer is the Front Panel.
The area of pins on the motherboard, that the main wires from the Front panel go to, is the Front Panel header.

Looking at the Front Panel header it is parallel to the outside edge on the bottom/right of the motherboard.

13 pin header.
6 across the Top row with 1 pin missing, 7 across the Bottom row.

Top row is numbered EVEN
Starting on LEFT side coming across to the Right, Top row;
Pins 2, 4, 6, 8, No Pin, 12, and 14.

Pins 2 and 4 have a Green area
Pins 6 and 8 have a Red area
No Pin 10.
Pins 12, and 14 have a Yellow area

Bottom row is numbered ODD.
Starting on LEFT side coming across to the Right, Bottom row;
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13.

Pins 2 and 4 have a Green area
Pins 6 and 8 have a Red area
No Pin 10.
Pins 12 and 14 have a Green area.

A) Pins 2 and 4 in the Green area (Top left) are for the Power On LED
Pin 2 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the Power On LED is dim when the computer is on, switch the wires around.

B) Pins 6 and 8 in the Red area are for the Power On switch.

C) Pins 12 and 14 are N/C. Not Connected

D) Pins 1 and 3 in the Yellow area, are for the HarDDrive activity LED light.
Pin 1 is for the Positive wire.
If the HDD LED is dim when the harddrive is active, switch the wires around.

E) Pins 5 and 7 in the Purple area, are for a Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.

F) Pins 9, 11, and 13 are N/C.
(Pin 9 is 5 Volts DC. Used by the factory for testing)

Regards,
joecoolvette

(I thought the internal speaker was that round little 'buzzer', below the bottom white PCI slot, (PCI 2), and close to the edge of the motherboard )

Step 1
Download Original]'>untitled-3%20(15).jpgConstruct your legs by nailing through the 1x3 legs into the edge of the 1x2 legs with 2" nails and glue. The legs will be positioned with the 1x3s to the front, 1x2s to the side, as shown in the diagram.
Step 2
Download Original]'>untitled-4%20(14).jpgStart by marking each of the legs 5" from the bottom of the board. This will be the bottom of the side support, C. Nail C to the legs, using 1 1/4" nails and glue, from the inside.
Step 3
Download Original]'>untitled-5%20(13).jpgNow add the stretcher, D, centering D on the support, C, but keeping the top edges flush. D will lay flat, with the wide side up. This is demonstrated above. Use glue and 2" nails, nailing through the support, C, into the end of D.
Step 4

Step 5
Download Original]'>untitled-7%20(8).jpgNow use the 1 1/4" nails to nail through the back of the side apron pieces, F, into the legs. Use glue. Keep top edges perfectly flush.
Step 6
Download Original]'>untitled-8%20(7).jpgDo the same for the front and back apron pieces, G, as shown above. Nail through G into the legs using 1 1/4" nails and glue. Keep top edges flush. Take a minute to check for square
Step 7
Download Original]'>untitled-9%20(7).jpgNow add the base top, piece H. Keep the front and back edges flush with the legs, but let the sides overhang 4" on either side. Nail into the legs and the apron using 2" nails and glue.
Step 8
Download Original]'>untitled-10%20(6).jpgUse glue and 1 1/4" nails to attach the breadboard ends to the base top. Keep all outside edges flush.
Step 9
Download Original]'>untitled-11%20(5).jpg I recommend not cutting the final piece, J, unitl you have taken an exact measurement. Add the final piece, using glue and 1 1/4" nails.
