Somebody has to open the Laptop and replace the part. If you want to pay to have somebody do it for you there are third party Acer Repair Services. However, the part is available on ebay. Here's a guide on how to disassemble an Acer Laptop. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you.

How do i fix white screen on my kav60 acer aspire one

The KAV60 is also the AOD250.

Netbook OFF, monitor OFF, connect an external monitor to the netbook's VGA port.

[You can use a VGA monitor. Looks like a small TV.
This is an example of a VGA port,

VGA connector Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

Note* VGA port doesn't have to be blue in color ]

Turn the monitor on. Turn the netbook on.
If there is no image shown on the external VGA monitor, press and hold down on the Fn key, and at the same time tap once on the Display Toggle-Over key.
(The F5 key is the Display Toggle-Over key)

No image on external VGA monitor?
Hold the Fn key down once more, and tap again on the F5 key.

Still no?
Problem is internal in netbook. Probably graphics chipset soldered to the motherboard.
Replace motherboard.

Problem is with Video Cable or laptop LCD screen.
MOST of the time it's the Video Cable.

The Video Cable connects to the motherboard, in an area under the Keyboard. It then routes up under the left Hinge, and into the Display Panel.
Inside the Display Panel it then connects to the LCD screen.

With frequent opening and closing of the netbook, the Video Cable can be pulled on. This can cause damage to the Video Cable.
(Stretched/broken wires inside the sheath of the cable)

And/or it can cause the connection at the motherboard to be loose, and/or at the LCD screen.

Example of Acer Aspire One video cable,

For ACER Aspire One D250 LCD Screen Cable DC02000SB10 KAV60 New

You can remove the Video Cable, and check it's continuity with a multimeter, or if the cost is reasonable to you simply replace it.

8 to 10 dollar video cable is not the problem? Then problem is the LCD screen itself.

My money is on a loose video cable connection, or damaged video cable.

I need a motherboard for an acer 8.9" netbook,

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=acer+aspire+one+netbook+ZG5&_sacat=58058
Also a few people selling fully working ZG5's for in the mid $40 range... might as well try to just buy a newish one on ebay.
There is one listed with a broken screen for $46, even if the screen is busted the motherboard should be intact.
Best of luck!

I cracked my screen. how much to replace it?

Contact Acer and provide them with serial number of your laptop to see if they have the part for you then i would take it to a local repair place and have them charge you just for the install of your new part ordered from Acer

It was dropped and the screen is messed up can it be fixed

If the LCD is cracked (likely in a drop, you'll get a rainbow/spider web appearance to the screen)- it is possible to replace it. However you would likely have to purchase the part from Acer directly. I have a sinking suspicion that the replacement part would likely cost almost as much as a new netbook- I would check. So yes, it is possible to be fixed, however it may not be worth replacing the part.

My daughter just dropped her acer aspire netbook. Only half of the screen is visible the other half is white and black with a line down the middle

Hi,

Dropping the netbook will have probably broken the LCD screen.

There is no other way to repair the problem without replacing the screen itself. You can however use a external monitor and use the keyboard to toggle between the two screens.

I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear but unfortunately LCD screens are fragile so a good knock can crack them causing only one half or the part or the screen which is not broken to show. The backlight itself sounds like its working as there is still light showing behind the cracks.

Regards.

My aspire one 10.1 inch netbook screen seems to be cracked inside the screen. half of the screen works fine and the other half seems to be broken.

Take the computer to a qualified technician, and ask about the costs (about $200 for the screen, $60 for labour) for replacing the screen.
