I have the same problem, looking for solution

I found that light sandpapering on both terminals where the batteries make contact cleared up the replace battery light indicagtor problem.

For me, it was not the contacts, although the contact wipers do need to be bent in carefully to maintain proper pressure. I found that if you leave the batteries out 2-3 minutes, the "replace battery" indicator will go out. You will need to reset the time but all other settings will be retained.

I HAVE A "honeywell chronotherm

Open the front panel, opens from the top, hinge at the bottom. You will see 2 Philips screws at the bottom at the "hinge" part. Unscrew them. Pull the thermostat from the wall by pulling off the top part. You need 3 AA batteries. You have 20-30 sec to change the battery without re-setting the program, so be prepared and have batteries handy. Make sure your + and - are in correct order- have a flashlight handy to see well. If you done it in time- you all set, if you are a bit late prepare to re-program according to your liking. You can re-program it while it is away from the wall, sitting in your chair! Instructions are on the inside panel, which you open All the best!

I have a Honeywell Chronotherm III Thermostat and in instead of showing the temparature in the display it shows -AC. I've replaced the batteries, and tryied adjusting Temp up and down for cooling and...

It would appear to me that you have lost the 24 volt power supply to the thermostat. In referencing the manuals for this thermostat, available @ www.honeywell.com, I've found that when the thermostat is not connected to the wall plate (plate mounted on the wall, that the thermostat either snaps or screws into), it will display the -AC. This being said, either the thermostat is loose on the wall currently, or your 24 volt transformer has died. Hope this helps.

Honeywell Chronotherm III is stuck on Repl Batt

when i have seen this in the past, i have been able to clean the contacts that the batteries touch.they may not look dirty, but if they get a little corrosion or get tarnished, they will not let the full battery power get to the stat and it will think the battery is low. try cleaning it with some emery cloth and see if that helps.

Fan shuts off too soon after oil burner stops

That is an old style t-stat i would replace it with a more up to date model. Your problem may be in the limit switch. But yes to answer your question most fans can be adjusted just depends on if it has a manual limit that looks like a silver box on the interior of your furnace or if it has a mother board control system.
