Our button keeps falling out of its mechanism. We have had a serviceman in a couple of times to fix it and he says it is not broken just popped out. We are trying to fix it ourselves (it happened again this morning) but can't figure out what screwdriver type to take out the screws on the back.

I have the same problem, none of my screw drivers or hex keys seem to work on the cover, any ideas on what screwdriver to use?

The door latch mechanism is all plastic and commonly breaks. You have to take the cover off and work on it from the inside.

This answer is incomplete. How can it possibly get a thumbs up? If it commonly breaks, how and where do I get another one....if that happens to be the cause of my problem of the door button not opening the door? Refer a website or 800 number to access how I can remove the cover, where i can buy a new part.

I have a Panasonic Microwave Model NN-SD277. How do you access the workings of the door opener button? It is broken so the door won't open.

You have to remove the outer cover, the plastic lift levers are behind the door open button / lever. Caution!, panasonic discontinued a lot of those and getting a replacement part can be hard at times. Dont waste your time trying to glue it. After watching people try to glue or epoxy those cheap plastic parts for so many years. I have to warn folks to not waste your time trying. .It will not hold!!!! Look online and try to find a replacement part somewhere. It will be one of two parts. the door open button you push, or the door open lever that the front button pushes against. If you unplug the unit and remove the outer cover simply look behind the front control panel and when you push the button to open the door you will see where it is supposed to lift to open the door. The broke part is your problem, may be a piece laying in the bottom.

When I open the Panasonic microwave oven door by pushing in the door opening button, the oven starts immediately

There is evidently a fault with the door interlock switches. Don't use it as the oven may avtually be emitting microwaves with the door open.

Get a service tech to quote you for repair as it may be more economical to buy a new one, when you will have a warranty.

Do not try to repair it yourself unless you have detailed knowledge as there are components inside which can deliver a lethal shock even when the oven is not plugged in.

Panasonic genius inverter 1250w door stuck

Sounds like a spring let go, or the plastic piece that the spring hooks onto broke. Either way, the top cover will have to come off. Could be an easy fix unless something broke.

Microwave keeps running with door open

I'd say the door interlock switch has failed, and supplies a connection when it should not. Microwave ovens can be dangerous to anyone poking around inside, even when unplugged, so get a quote from a service tech. You might find that parts+labour is almost as much as a new one.

Microwave radiation being released through an open door is also a hazard, as it is known to cause eye cataracts, so don't get near if the oven does this.

My panasonic inverter fridge not cooling since the door was left opened .....

Dear logeswaran,
Refrigerators consume a lot of power when the door is left open. The cooling unit on your appliance may be faulty. Get a qualified technician to check your appliance.

Just had a panasonic inverter nn-cf778s delivered today.on microwave setting it continues to run after the door is opened, surely this cant be correct.

No it definitely isn't. Sounds as though they got the interlocks connected incorrectly, or the control panel is defective.
Either way, you definitely need to send it back to where you bought it.

Can't open microwave door

It sounds like the push to open lever is cracked or broken. You have to remove the 'wrapper' to open the door manually from the inside to check the 'door keys' or door hooks to make sure that they are in tact. Then, check the door opening lever between the 'push to open button' and the lower door key.

Won't whut off when open door

The microwave running with the door open can be dangerous.

It's most likely the switch in the door stuck in the closed position. Or it has failed/broken in the closed position.

Sometimes the switch is just a button sticking out of the cabinet where the door pushes on it when closed -- sometimes the door latch pushes on a switch inside the latch receiver in the cabinet.

If cleaning around that switch doesn't solve the problem, you should take it to a repair shop.
