Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
If you're running XP or newer, your system should autodetect the wireless receiver plugged into your USB port which will then autodetect the signal from the mouse. Some wireless mice have a small button on the bottom that must be pushed and held for a few seconds each time the battery is installed.
By the way, the receiver that goes into the USB port may be different for each mouse. Use the one that came with the mouse.
