SOURCE: water not going through spray arms

1.does motor run? no. replace motor. 2.open door and leave the bottom rack inside dw.spin the spray arm underneath the bottom rack by hand. it should spin freely without binding. if it doesnt spin freely take out the bottom rack and try again. if it does spin freely then your bottom rack is laying on your sprayarm preventing it from rotating. 3.you could also not be getting enough water into your dw.

SOURCE: dishwasher - no spray arm action

If it is filling with water properly then it sounds like the chopper screen is clogged so that water isn't getting into the pump. You can remove the top of the pump housing and get to the screen and chopper blade to inspect it. Go to sears.com, click on parts and enter your model number and you can view a diagram of the pump parts to help in disassembling it.
If the pump is not clogged then you have a problem with the impeller or motor. If this is the case you can replace the entire sump assembly just about as cheap as replacing individual parts of the pump.
Post back with any questions.
Thanks, Mike

SOURCE: water not spraying hard enough

Could be a a couple different issues.. Not filling with enough water or food chopper broke or food chopper filter screen clogged.

Check water level:
Run the DW and wait for the main wash to start (water will fill. pause then complete fill) The water should be no more than 1/4 inch below the heating element. If not there..replace water inlet valve.

Inspect food chopper:
Remove lower spray arm and rear water supply tube to upper spray arm. Remove torx screws that secure the sump cover. Remove the rounded cover on the left side to expose the chopper assembly. Inspect for breakage of blockage. There may be an additional plastic screen to remove first.

LG Dishwasher water flow is weak coming out of the lower spray arm. No water coming out of the upper spray arm. I changed the water inlet valve, and there isn't any difference.

There is a possibility the water pressure itself is low from the kitchen line or the dishwasher is set at incorrect water pressure setting and does not collect enough water based on the flow time of inlet valve. If you hear the wash motor cut in then there is not enough water in the base to start pumping it to through the arms.

Gritty film left on almost all dishes, rinse aid level seems to always remain at full, but apparently not rinsing well.

The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

I have a GE Profile, GSD4930X73WW, dishwasher. The upper wash arm is not spraying well at all. I checked the water line from the pump to the upper arm and it's fine. I cleared the filters and cleaned...

Most likely the cause would be a blocked screen entering the pump. There is a small "shredder" spring immediately in front of it which shreds soft food waste. Many times plastic wrap gets into the unit and will block the round holes in that screen, thereby reducing water supply to the pump. Low supply means loss of pressure and that means no water to top wash arm. Access is done by removing the large white coarse filter, located behind the lower wash arm, lifting the oval plastic screen just below that and reaching in to the bottom reservoir. BE CAREFUL OF GLASS AND OTHER SHARPS! Gently clean out that area and feel for the final round screen that leads to the pump. This is the one that gets blocked with debris. Some can be "scrubbed" with an old toothbrush, but if there is plastic wrap in it, you will have to scrape it with fingernails and pick it out. Another, more time consuming way, is to remove the entire motor pump assembly and dismantle it.
Good luck. Let us know if it helped.

THE UPPER TRY DOES NOT GET CLEAN, THE SPRAY ARM ON THE BOTTOM OF THE UPPER TRY AND THE SPRAYER AT THE TOP DO NOT TURN?THE WATER THAT COME SOUT AT THE BOTTOM IS WEAK ? WHY?

It could be that your dishwasher is not getting enough water. Let the water fill the dishwasher, set the spray arms in the same direction. Add a large pot of hot water and run the dishwasher. Open the door and check to see if the spray arms have moved. If they have moved, replace the water inlet valve.
Remove the 4 screws holding the lower kick panel. Remove kick panel. Locate the water inlet valve. This is the electrical valve where the water pipe hooks into the dishwasher. Shut off the water to the Dishwasher and electrical to the dishwasher. Disconect the 2 wire plug at the water inlet valve. Disconect the water supply to the dishwasher at the valve and disconect the rubber hose attached to the valve. Install new valve and test machine.
I hope this helps.

My maytag dishwasher does not have enough pressure to drive the water through the wands onto the dishes. I have cleaned the screen underneath the bottom wand but this has not increased the pressure enough....

I would check to see if you have enough water in the dishwasher. Let the dishwasher fill with water and set the spray arm in a positoin you will remember where it is.
Take a large pot of hot water and add it to the dishwasher and close the door. Start the dishwasher and observe to see if the spray arm moves.
If it moves you may have to change the water inlet valve. It may be restristing the water flow into the dishwasher.
The water inlet valve is located behind the lower kick panel.(4) screws, Remove the panel and see where the water pipe hooks into the water inlet valve. Remove two wires and two screws. Shut water off and remove the water line going into the valve and the small rubber hose coming out of the valve.
Replace valve and reinstall kick panel.
Hope this helps.

My dishwasher is not cleaning dishes - it is running through its cycles, but when it is done, there is a heavy residue of soap and hard water and the dishes looks worse than when i put them in.I've changed...

Hello there:
There are 6 areas that could cause this to happen Please follow these simple steps ok
Investigate each of these six areas if your dishwasher is not completely cleaning your dishes:

Water Inlet Valve

A dishwasher's water inlet valve is its most common part to fail. When your dishes are not being fully cleaned, quite often a faulty water inlet valve is to blame. Test your dishwasher's water inlet valve, and if it is no longer functioning as it should, you will have to replace it.

Upper or Lower Spray Arm

Your dishwasher has a lower spray arm. It may also have an upper spray arm at the top of the dishwasher. These spray arms are designed to shoot high pressure, high temperature water at your dishes. It is possible that the holes of the spray arms, where the water comes out, are blocked with debris, affecting wash quality. You should inspect your dishwasher's spray arms regularly. Clean out the spray arms as need be.

Heating Element

Water temperature is a key element in achieving clean dishes. A dishwasher's heating element is not designed to heat the water that enters it. Rather, the heating element is designed to maintain the heat of the water that enters the dishwasher. Its a good idea to run the hot water in your sink for a couple of minutes before you run the dishwasher. Just to make sure the water is nice and hot before it enters the dishwasher. If the water is unable to stay hot, it can adversely affect your dishwasher's cleaning ability.

Filter/Drain Grate

There is a filter in your dishwasher. Its function is to keep large particles of food and foreign objects away from the pump. Many of the newly-manufactured dishwashers have self-cleaning filters, and routine cleaning isn't a concern. However, some other dishw ashers need to have the filter removed and cleaned regularly. If the filter or grate is clogged or blocked with debris, it may interfere with the normal functioning of your dishwasher. Consult your owner's manual for specific directions for removing your dishwasher's filter and cleaning it.

Detergent or Detergent Cup

It could just be that you aren't using enough soap to completely wash your dishes. Your dishwasher may be designed to dispense soap at two different times during the wash cycle. If you don't fill all of the detergent cups, then the diswasher will lose a cleaning cycle. Also, if you use a gel-type detergent, try switching to a powered kind. Powders tend to dissolve better in hot water. And don't buy in bulk. Detergents are most effective in the first two weeks. After that, they decrease in potency.
Alternatively, your dishwasher's detergent cup could be defective in some way. It is possible that it is gunked up full of built up detergent, and a thorough cleaning may be enough to get it working again. If that doesn't do the trick, you probably need to replace the entire detergent cup assembly. If your cup isn't even opening, please see our section My dishwasher detergent cup won't open.

Cycle Selector Switch

Sometimes a dishwasher's cycle selector switch is the reason why dishes are not coming completely clean. Test your selector switch to determine whether or not it has become defective. If it has, replace it.

LG LDS5811WW Low pressure out of spray arms

On the LG LDF xxxx dishwasher family, the Vario feature uses a motor/check valve to switch between "full power" cleaning from _either_ the lower or the upper spray arms, never at the same time. So, not seeing the upper arm spin during the lower arm spinning is standard operating procedure.

But back to your problem. Step one would be to remove the filter assembly again and make certain that there is nothing (debris, broken glass) blocking the white areas where the check valve rotates to switch between upper/lower spray arms. A blockage there ~could~ cause impotent spraying/cleaning.

If there is no blockage and the impeller remains in good shape, suspect a failing wash pump motor. Try to isolate the noise to that motor.

Watch for error codes on the display and report back what you find, OK?

Good Luck!

Small plastic top and mid spray arm do not turn, bottom does

decrete, you want to get down to the chopper and screen. If the screen is plugged up with gunk there won't be enough pressure to reach the top spray arms. Check out the posted pics. Remove the lower spray arm. Rotate the rear feed arm to the right until it unsnaps from the tube going up the back. See the 4 torq screws holding the filter on. Remove them. Lift the filter up. Now you will see the chopper inlet cover. 1 torq screw holding it in. Lift it up and there's the chopper and screen. Catriver..post back
