Question about Sennheiser HD 600 Consumer Headphones

HD600 no sound in one ear

Hello I've had my HD600 for a couple years and have used them extensively. I've had to replace the cord once already. I lost sound in the left ear and tried to replace the cable again but still no sound. I think the problem must be in the earpeice itself. Is there anything I can do?

Go inside and test the speaker with a small low power battery, connect it quickly (just a quick touch) to the terminals of the speaker, it should pop! If it doesn't it's gone.
If the Sennheiser don't have replacements, then it's bin time!

Black to black (hot), Green to green (ground) and the only one left is of course white to blue. The (neutral) white wire can be many different flavors (blue, red, orange, brown, etc.).

If the outlet your plugging into (or controlled by the service panel breaker) is 15 Amps use a minimum of 14 gage wire (or 12 gage is even better), if its a 20 Amp outlet use 12 gage wires (or 10 gage). Don't use a 16 or 18 gage wire because it may get hot and start a fire because its undersize for the Amps.

Artista 180 no power, had mother board replaced once in 08. Hope not to have to replace it again. Any suggestions or tips.

Firstly, check if there are any lights on - sewing light, display backlight etc. if nothing at all, first port-of-call is the power supply module 'L'-print which is in the back panel. If you've already had a new 'S'-print, check the date when you got your machine back - 2 year warranty on boards ... may be a fine point but if only a couple of months out you might get a sympathetic ear.

Sounds like you've lost audio output from the sound card. Unplug the audio cable from the sound card and plug in a set of ear buds or headphones. If you don't get any sound your driver's not working. Try reinstalling the old driver.

Headphones only work if it is in a certain direction

You can fix this with some soldering skill and a lot of tinkering. its not terribly hard but can damage your ipod or what ever your listening to if you do it incorrectly. On the flip side im looking for a pair of the ear buds with out a cord for a new life in a project. If you need more help or may be interested in working out something email me. n_raven99(at)hotmail.com

I have a 51592 Rake and Vac Toro blower. Yesterday, when using the blower (all I use) the cord got hot and started to melt both the blower cord and extension cord; First time ever I have had this problem.

If it is getting hot enough to melt the electric cord and the extension cord, get rid of it. The over-heating is most likely from the brushes in the motor, which means, unless you are a licensed electrician or know one, the unit should be scrapped. Replacement parts for these electric blowers are priced such that it is cheaper to buy a enw one than to fix the old one.

The blender coupling on my oster snapped in half. I have the replacement part already I just cannot figure out how to get the broken coupling off the base of the motor. I also got a replacement square...

10-01-2009 Sara - see solution for rlaymon 1-9-08 "Top part of base broke off" by TanyaCS on 1-20-08 - good ideas. I just fixed mine - 2 hour job + half hour to put a new cord in. Like TanyaCS my broken coupling was rusted to shaft - used WD-40 twice and let sit - meanwhile took out motor and removed fan - kept screws and washers in order on workbench (kitchen counter) - the fan hole is "D" shaped - fan end of shaft also "D" shaped - I filed a "flat" on the other side of the factory "flat" (side of 'D' that is straight) - Used big pliers on broken coupling and adjustable wrench on on the "flats" on fan end of the shaft. Broken end came right off. New cord is 18 gauge extension cord capable of at least 6 amps. Cut off the un-needed end. Or order a replacement cord $4 when you order the rubber drive coupling $4, pin with slinger washer $3. Bet you also need new rubber feet - didn't buy for mine - wish I had. Bert

No sound on right side

I had such a problem, but I fixed it.

Plase see video on YouTube:

or read this brief text explanation:

Under/behind the ear sponge are four screws - 3 black screws, that holds ear cup closed, and one silver cup, that mounts small piece of plate, that holds the cord.
Gently unscrew, open ear cup, and then first I suggest to check if circuit on that small circuit board is not broken! You can also check wires, etc.
