Question about Vizio VP322 32 in. Plasma TV
The Vizio VP322 is notorious for having bad capacitors on the power supply circuit board. They will probably be bulging and may have electrolyte leaking. I replaced four bad capacitors (with a different brand just in case) and fixed it. Total cost under $10. A lot cheaper and better than replacing the whole circuit board which may contain the same "faulty" capacitors from the factory.

I replaced 3 capacitors and fixed this problem. They were 1-10v 1000uF and 2- 10v 3300uF electrolitic board mount capacitors. Easy to spot on the power board, the tops were bulged up. $5.54 later it works perfectly now.

stored voltages are high no touching these circuts becuase they hold charges and alot of screws.
fualty capacitors you say after a while it stays on theres a full charge in the unit theres some type of discharging effect on the set after its off for a while. voltage goes to low or unstable after it is off for a while. your better off getting the service docs for this set if you want to diy..other wise get a tv tech to check it for you. hope this helps

It can be power supply failure due to bad caps, or it detects shorted circuits in the set so it goes into shutdown mode.
Look at the power supply first for any bad caps, burnt components, etc.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:

Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.
Please post back what you find.
