Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer
If Samsung is anything like Lexmark, then forget it. Image Count is a variable buried in what they call NPAP. This is a communication player and therefore is not something companies will help you manipulate.
It is a major concern because not only does image count get used by the "Toner Life" and "ITU Life" but it is also a warranty claim number.
For example if you were to call Samsung and tell them that you have a printer with an Image Replacement failure and your page count is 50, then they are looking at a clear out of box failure so to speak.
If the count is say 50K, then they may say its a supply item and you need to replace it or call a service technician to have it replaced.
It really depends on how the printer logic is built. On some of the printers I've played with there were two variable locations for page count. One was the total and the other was the current.
Regardless, NPAP is not something to play with. You can fry the poor things brains rather quickly.
