My brand new MX-3000 lcd touchscreen remote control finally froze up completely (on the satellite screen). This, after displaying a lack of interest in my touch in the first two weeks of weeks of use.

When working it seems slow to respond to touch commands and frequently fails to understand them. For example, it can take several minutes to access the key pad to enter a new satellite channel, as the unit interprets the input to be for the sub woofer screen. There is no sub-woofer screen option from that screen. This has happened repeatedly, however, I believe I may have discovered a vary narrow path by which you can sneak up on the "keypad" button so that it produces the desired result. Gees! what a hassle! I would expect a control unit costing $1000 plus an additional $700 charge for programing (by the dealer) would yield a product that preformed with accuracy, sure footedness and ease of use.

Perhaps it's the programming? More likely it's the idiot operator. Any suggestions

You open up the back of the unit and "unplug" the battery. Once you plug it back in immediately, the unit will recycle through the startup and work FINE.

This happened to me today. I plugged the programming cable into the MX 3000 and the screen became "un-froze."

Unit "froze" Is there a reset?

I had a similar problem with a MX-3000 2 years ago. The unit would continually freeze. I think it was a problem with the first few units. Since then I've bought a new one and had no problems. Then this weekend, it froze for the first time (the battery is not holding a charge so I think that led to the problem).

If you open the back cover, there is a silver button just above where the battery plugs into the remote. Pushing that button should perform a reset. As an alternative, you can remove the battery at the connector. It is recommended that you use the button and not the connector. It is in there tight on my unit and pulling on the wires can cause a break.
