I could use my dvd ram before, but many times like more than 3 times have a problem. so I cant use DVD ram at all. every time I used system restore, is there any way to fix this except restore? please help me. this is tooo annoying. when I click th device manager, I can see this comment. Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) I tried find the driver of matshita on Internet, but I couldnt find it. Help me please! I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A HP PAVILION dv9500 NOTEBOOK COMPUTER USING WINDOWS VISTA. NOW AFTER ONLY 2 DAYS THE DVD-RAM IS NOT RECOGNIZED "CODE 39". ATTEMPTS TO RESTORE, REPAIR OR RE-INSTALL HAVE FAILED. THE ERROR MESSAGE SUGESTS I SHOULD CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER I PLAN TO RETURN THE NOTEBOOK TO PC WORLD IN THE MORNING. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!
Looks like it is the old Upper/lower filters entries in the registry.
Be real careful working the registry. Make real sure you export the registry, and create a restore point first. Here are the steps to fix it,
