Chamberlain Liftmaster 2280-267 1/2 hp stopped suddenly

I have determined that power supply is OK. Neither of the 2 remotes, or wall mounted door control, or the keyless entry can work the unit. The safety reverse sensors have a red light on it as it normally does (I noted that it was always red and not green). When I press the learn button, I do not get a glow from the learn indicator light. Any ideas? Is it a board problem? do I need to get the board replaced then? Thanks in advance.

The sensor eye - or more likely, the other end, the sensor light - probably got knocked out of alignment. The eye should have an LED on it - possibly one that glows green when it's ready to close or red when it's obstructed or out of alignment. Try adjusting the light until the LED on the receiver glows green.

SOURCE: garage door stops and reverses either way-up or down-

If the light on the opener flashes when this happens, count the flashes (which indicate the type of problem) and consult your owners manual.  If you don't have the owners manual, you can find a digital copy online at the manufacturer's website. Also, check your manual for an adjustment that tells the opener how much resistance you want it to tolerate before reversing.

No, the problem is the photoelectric eyes. Check that they are properly aligned.

I have a liftmaster formula 1 1280R opener that works fine from the wall mount but all of a sudden both remotes and the built-in remote in my car stopped working. It is not the batteries in the remotes. ...

The motor/control unit may have gotten reset. It needs to relearn the codes transmitted by the remotes.

MIne has a "learn" button on the control unit. Press and hold, then press the button on the remote. Lights will flash indicating it has received and stored the code. Release button.

Check to see if the remote works now. If so, all three should be working. If not, dig up your manuals.

You need to check the door springs to see if one is broken and also remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. The gear is white nylon and will be very obvious if it is bad. The part number is 41A2817 and is available at any good door service company. It will come with instructions.

The hand held divice stopped working and the mounted pad light flashes quickly. The mounted pad does work.

The most likely problem here is that your wall control is bad. I would disconnect the 2 wires going to it and I think you will find your remote works. Replace the wall control.
