How do you fit a new lcd screan on my nokia 6500 slide

You must have the cell phone screw driver that you can
buy at the hardware stores, before you can do the job.

Your display circuit is broken, even if the LCD-panel,
seems to be ok the display is damaged.
This is a very common problem in Nokia phones.
The only way to fix this is to change the display.
You need a T-6 Torx Skrewdriver to do the job.

simply check the connections of the lcd to the board... or just tighten the screws... i had repaired a phone of that problem and this was my solutions.

I am afraid the boards are different for the two models. I don't think this i the answer you were after but at least you won't end up wasting money buying the wrong one.
