We need re installation driver installer disk for mother board compaq serie ep sb 440 bx chipset

The computer has an Intel 440BX chipset on it. Chipset drivers are built into
Win ME or later, required from for Win 98 or NT. You'll also need
to identify the audio, network and video drivers and possibly obtain drivers for
them as well.

Try the HP web site for info about the drivers, many of which can be downloaded
there. HP did not trash the Compaq Deskpro driver downloads when it bought up
Compaq. HP and Carly have trashed up just about everything else tho in the last
3+ years..

A driver is a software program that allows a piece of hardware (Sound Card, Video Card etc.) to communicate with your Operating System software (Windows XP, Vista etc.).Thousands of different driver programs have been written to permit thousands of different devices to communicate with many different computer operating systems.
So, you can't just say "I need a driver" You have to describe the hardware you need the driver for, who made the hardware, the model number of the hardware and the operating system you want to install the driver on.
Here are some examples of how to find out where you have a go to get the drivers that you need:
I have a Compaq Presario computer. The Model No. Is XXXXXX-XXX . I need the sound drivers for Windows XP. Please tell me where to go and how to download these drivers.
I don't know the name of my computer, but the motherboard is made by Asus and its part number is YYYYY-YYY. I need the video drivers for this board. My operating system is Windows 2K pro. Please tell we where I can find these drivers and how to download them.
I have HP model ZZZ-XX Printer. I lost the driver CD. Please tell me where I can get a repkacement CD for use on Windows 7.
I have a Web Cam made by Acton. The model number is 1234-56. Where can I find these drivers for Windows 98?
I need all the drivers for my motherboard that is installed in My Dell computer model No 2323-4545. These drivers were on the system restore CD which I lost. I either need the drivers or another CD. My OS is Windows XP pro.
Please post another message on FixYa similar to one of the above. This should enable a FixYa expert to provide you with the information you need to locate and download your driver(s).

Hello sir, i am facing a problem regarding sound in my compaq presario v3700 laptop(running under windows xp service pack 2).. when i install sound driver, sound does not come? what shud i do?? should i...

Yes you should install the chipset driver first. It is always the first one to install on a freshly installed Windows.

I don't know if it is where you got your drivers but will provide everything you need by choosing your laptop model in the support page.

Hope this helps!

I have reinstall the windows xp prof to my hp laptop. wen i play music no sounds. wat should i do?

The reason you dont have any sound is that the sound card on your Laptop needs a driver to work normally again, There is usually a website where you can download the drivers from the manufacturer of your laptop for example : dell, compaq.. just reply with the model of your computer and i can help you find the necessary drivers for the sound.
Cheers !!!

Speakers not working right

First check the easy stuff, wires, plugs green go to your control panel and double click on sound, down at the bottom you see speaker settings, speaker volume and advanced.
check your speaker volume hear- then click on advance-speaker tab- drop down box -select your set up- (2.1 = two speakers and a sub woofer). And make sure it is correct...then the performance tab- both slides all the way right.
Now if that is all good- uninstall your sound drivers and go to realtek and download the latest drivers for your sound card/or onboard.
If you need help to locate the drivers please provide card number- computer name and model- or the motherboard make and number.
You are using Windows XP-correct?
I hope this helps, please leave a rating.

Missing conexant audio driver for Compaq Presario C700

One solution is you could go to the hp website which I have provided and it will show a list lf the different sub-models of the Presario C700 laptop and select the one that matches your computers number and see if they have an XP driver for your sound card available yet.

Otherwise, I would try to figure out who the manufacturer of your sound card is and go to there website. Find out the specific model fo your sound card and then drill through their website to, hopefully, find the driver you are looking for.

Happy Hunting,

Hi there. My name is Alex and I am here to help try and solve your problem.

Its not easy to find XP drivers for the latest compaq notebooks. To help find the exact model number for your sound driver, you will need to download a program such as (AIDA32 or Everest) which gives you a detailed listing of the hardware installed on your notebook. Once you have installed one of these programs, open it and select sound card. You will then find the exact name for the sound card installed in your machine. Once you have the name, look on that manafacture's website and see if you can download it. If you can't then you can download drivers from This website requires a free registration.

I hope I have been some assistance to this problem. Please let me know if you experience any more problems.

This solution is Applied for DESKTOP PC's

Just open the cabinet of u r CPU and on motherboard u find the sound card connector behind that u find a small IC on that u will be having name of the sound card i.e,for example Realtek,Sigmatel etc
like this or else it will be RTL followed by some number just make a note of the number and put in google u will get a link

or else

If it is a Branded Desktop just put the model number in google

or else

IF it is a Laptop just put the brand name and model number in google u will get a link

I will give u some of the Helpful Driver Websites Links (printer drivers, cdrom drivers, modem drivers, sound drivers, mouse drivers, monitor drivers, etc.) -
