Question about HP DeskJet 5550 InkJet Printer

2 Answers

The resume and power buttons are flashing on my 5550 deskjet; nothing works. The print queue is empty and there are no outstanding (manual) double-sided pages waiting. Temporarily disconnecting the power and USB cables has no effect.

Pain.
Remove printer prog, restart, then re-install printer prog.

Make sure connections are secure and screwed in?

First step is to see will if it print a test page.
Go to Start, settings, printers. Right click on the printer, properties, print test page.If that doesn't work there should be a head cleaning option in properties that will make it clean the print heads.
Try the self-test? I'm not sure on the 5550 printer, but do this:With the printer ON,
1. Press and hold the power button
2. While holding the power button, press the resume button 4 times
3. Release the power button

The Power button turns the printer on and off. It takes approximately five seconds for the printer to turn on after you press the Power button. The green light above the Power button flashes when printing is in progress. Caution! Always use the Power button on the front of the printer to turn the printer on and off. Using a power strip, surge protector, or a wallmounted switch to turn the printer on and off may cause premature printer failure

HP deskjet 5550 will not print. Flashing orange and green lights. There is no paper jam. I have reinstalled the printer, restarted the computer, unplugged the printer. It was working fine, then stopped...

Make sure the covers are closed completly. It will not print unless its closed. If its not that, then check to make sure you didn't knock one of the cables loose inside the printer, and make sure the belt that moves the cartridges is still intact and is not jammed.

Maybe there's some document stuck in your printqueue. Next to the systems clock (on the bottom right of your screen) there should be a small printer icon.

Doubleclick it, the printer's queue should appear. If not right click it and choose printequeue.

In the printqueue screen go to File > Cancel all (or an options similar. If the queue is empty. Try printing again. If it won't empty, restart your machine, and try emptying it again (or chech whether it's now empty)

If this doesn't work, download the driver installer from HP's site.
Use the following link:
[HP Deskjet 880c Driver page]

First select your OS though.

Let me know if this helped.

DarkNeogen
