Most likely what happened is one of the capacitors went bad. When a capacitors goes bad it produces a popping sound. This could be an easy and cheap fix if you find the bad capacitor or capacitors. The bad capacitor will have a bulging top most likely on the power board but could be anywhere.

If it is hot were you live , That model of t.v doesn't like heat, anything about 35 degrees celsius could cause a problem with the card components.

External connections to TV - audio, or HDMI - will sometimes mute the TV --- remove all external connections to tv - test.

some times you have to turn it off, unplug it, wait for 20 secs and plug it in again and turn it on, this would be the last step after trying the remote control thing, you know, check if mute buttom or volume, or the languaje option, good luck, God bless

Buffer boards or Y-SUS main needs to be replaced. What do you mean by motherboard? The power supply board or the Logic or X main.... They YBU/YBL and the YSUS work in unison. Y-Buffer upper controls top half, Y Buffer lower control bottom have YSUS controls both of those. There is also D, G, E F boards that can split screan. But they to are controlled with the Y-SUS Main. check ur sound volume also if sound is muted this all can be done by ur remote controll

Just bought a 42 inch lg tv and cant programme my

please follow the steps below with you sky remote:

TV
RED + SELECT (hold these down until it flashes twice)
TV

Try the volume button if this works then press SELECT. If it does not work then press TV again then try the volume ( repeat this step until the volume works. Dont forget to press the SELECT button to save the code to the remote.

This should sort you out. Please leave a thumbs up when you get it working.

Need vizio code for Samsung remote!!

I have a 37 inch vizio and had the same problem. After a little web research, I came across a suggestion that the LG codes might work. I tried it and found that the code 19 worked. You might try that. If 19 doesn't work for you, one of the other LG codes might (they are 06, 21, 22, 23 or 78).
