Question about Computers & Internet

No power/video..screen test good.Power light amber/orange

I have an Hanns-G Hi221D 22'' LCD monitor. I received it from an client that his computer & monitor was ''supposely'' hit by lighting. When you plug it in or add power all you get is the amber/orange light. I have tested the screen itself which is good and working, I disassembled my 19'' Hanns-G HW191D and connected the video ribbon cable and the 4 inverter tube wire and it work except it only showed in the actual 19'' widescreen view. both fuses are good and not blown. I have replaced several capacitor that I had around, I didn't notice an damaged/leaking/blown caps on the board but I replaced them anyway. If someone can give me an idea where I need to go next I would appreciate it. There's +5V on both outputs to the control board but no power to the inverter tube. Here's an photo of the power board except it doesn't have the audio components (caps, IC w/headtsink, connectors to the right of the large light blue cap).I need some help for what I need to do next. Thanks.

Samsung syncmaster 2220 blinking blue light and no image display

Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Good luck.

Hanns g hx191d no picture. My monitor went black while I was working, the green led is lit, I get a picture for a split second when I first turn on the computer or monitor.

Hello,

The most common cause of this type of display issues is a failure of the back light power supply. There are parts called capacitors that fail and this causes the power supply to not be able to put out the correct voltages to operate the monitor. You cn repair the monitor easily by replacing the bad capacitors on the power supply board. The old ones need to re desoldered and the new ones soldered back in place. You can get a kit of the proper capacitors to do the repair here:

The monitor starts up displaying no signal

This means that the monitor is not receiving a video signal from the computer. When it doesn't receive a signal, it goes to sleep. You should check to make sure that the video cable is tightly connected, and also, if you have another monitor around, connect the other monitor to the computer and see if it works. It's possible that your monitor has malfunctioned.

No Signal error on screen. All connections

Do you see a green power light with connected and power on with computer connected ?
If so, remove the connection at the computer video card, you should see a no signal message.
If you do not have a power on lamp, either amber or green, you do not have A/C power to the unit.

First, flip the switch for your power surge protector, to see if that resolves. Then, test the monitor on another computer and see if it works. If the monitor still doesn't work, look for another one. Hope that helps.

try test the LCD to other PC, if it is working on other PCs, then your VGA card might be the cause. And if the same problem happens to other PC's then the LCD is at fault. Remember to Check the VGA cord. Good luck.
