Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

Hello. I recently purchased a soundstream digi Q equalizer online. I've been swapping out that one with an older 1 I have.( soundstream m-tube 8). Unfortunately the wiring harness is a little different. same connection piece, different wiring. Its only 3 wires. 12 volt constant, remote, and a ground. I forgot to swap the wires around last time I swapped them out and the 12 volt ended up on the ground. Now I have continuity from hot to ground. I opened up the unit to see if anything was visually wrong with it, like a wire touching something it shouldn't be. The old one works fine, the new one keeps blowing fuses because of the short. any idea what this could be? any info would help. Thanks

Thanks. Its definately not the harness itself. Its something inside the eq. I'm gonna have to send it in for repairs. sucks cause i probably voided my warranty by opening it. Thanks again

Chances are one of the wires have melted togethere (on the harness) and needs to be separated. If you have continuity then trace that hot wire all the way in to the eq and see where it stops, should lead you right to where the short is or to the board which may be now bad (bad component) due to shorting/reverse connection..

Thats correct, most manufactures put a safety seal on electronic items so if its been torn it automatically voids the warranty. If repaired a new seal will be put on the unit...

How can i us wlan or wifi on my desktop

Most older desktop motherboards are not set up with Wi-Fi capability, the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to add Wi-Fi to your desktop is to purchase a USB Wi-Fi adapter.

I've used the Panda Wi-Fi adapters (Available online, such as or pretty much any computer store).

An alternative would be to purchase a wireless NIC card to install into your Desktop PC. You would have to examine your PC to determine what form factor and technology to purchase that would be compatible with your motherboard and available expansion card slots.

I have the soundstream vcd 32 my burnt CD-R wont play what can I do

Did you close the session when you burned the CD? If not put it back in the PC you used to burn it and use the software to close the session. When you don't close the session, the PC will play all the files correctly. However, they will not play in any other CD player.

How do I get my audio mixer to record after the power light died?

A power supply device has shorted due to:
1) Age - shouldn't be the case.
2) Misuse - hooking up to an older tube type amplifier or older tube type equipment without polarizing the power.
3) Component failure - This can happen at anytime.
4) Power spikes due to the utility company or lightning.

Suggest calling Support at Behringer to. Usually the manufacture wants to rectify any service situation especially on such a recent model. Who knows! They may have had a problem with that unit.

Depending on model and original purchase cost you may be better off purchasing a new unit.

The older Behringers' are not known for quality merchandise - usually sold at Guitar Center.

My leptop acer 4720zg physical dumping error

1) Examine the “System” and “Application” logs in Event Viewer for other recent errors that might give further clues. To do this, launch > Eventvwr.msc from a Run box; or open “Administrative Tools” in the Control Panel then launch Event Viewer.

2) If you’ve recently added new hardware, remove it and retest.

3) Run hardware diagnostics supplied by the manufacturer.

4) Make sure device drivers and system BIOS are up-to-date.

5) However, if you’ve installed new drivers just before the problem appeared, try rolling them back to the older ones.
6) Open the box and make sure all hardware is correctly installed, well seated, and solidly connected.

7)Confirm that all of your hardware is on the Hardware Compatibility List.

8)Check for viruses.

9)Investigate recently added software.

10)Examine (and try disabling) BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.

Don't know how to install equalizer. Where does

hi input wiring hooks up to speaker wire outputs on the stereo. in 2008 chrysler has no ignition or accessory outputs. everything is digital, if you use a trunkloc from PAC electronics you will be able to hookup your outputs from the deck into this unit and it will provide you with the RCA, and remote power output needed for your system to operate. the factory deck should have battery and ground at the plug but no acc.

Don't know to conneect my amplifier connecting firdt a soundstream ecualizer

What are you running in to your amp? If it's a CD player or radio, find the wires from them, disconnect them from the amp and connect them to the equalizer, then connect the equalizer to the amp.

Soundstream rub 500-1 mono....

U need to make sure your subs are wired correctly. And u need to make sure all your speakers are at the same ohm load. If u hook up two subs on one channel and two more on the other one u need to make sure that your subs are all 2ohm or 4ohm subs cause if u got two 4ohm subs ran parrallel then u will have a 2ohm setting and if both of them are 2ohm subs them your load will be a 1ohm load witch could harm your amp unless its an 1ohm stable amplifier.
