Are you trying to get sound to external speakers or to the speakers on your monitor? If the monitor, did you connect a mini cable from the monitor sound in jack to the green jack on the back of your computer? If you didn't, and now have, and this resolved your problem, please let me know. Also, monitors are notorious for low sound. Make sure the icon in your lower right tray is turned up high, and the sound program will likely have an on-screen mixer where you can turn the volume up too.

I answered this but the solution did not post (thanks to Verizon). When you installed the LG software, were you prompted to change any settings? The LG software may have hijacked your normal sound output to your Bose speakers

Have a new Hanns G HZ201 20" LCD. Audio cable is

You should feed the MP3 into the monitor audio line in to see if you can get sound, you do not have to install any sound driver for the monitor, it works the same as a set of powered PC speaker system, no driver to install.
do you get sound from the PC using powered speakers?

Phillips brilliance 180P, no sound from speakers

Go to the Start menu, open the Control Panel, look for the folder Sounds and Audio Devices and open it.
You should have some listing referring to your monitor. If not, look next at the folder System, then Hardware, then Device manager and check if there are any red 'X' next to Monitors or Sound, video an game controllers.
If you get really frustrated, you can delete your monitor from within the Device manager, leave the monitor turned on and reboot your PC. Windows should 'find' a 'new device' and install or ask for an installation CD (hope you have one) and give you a basic driver for video.
If none of this has helped, go to Philips support page and download and install the newest driver for that monitor.

No sound coming from new hp monitor through windows vista

Alright, I got the answer for ya, first, go into your control panel. Click on Sounds and Audio Devices. Listed in this window should be the name of your sound card. Under that, should be Device Volume, and at the bottom, should be the Speaker Settings, click into Advanced, next to speaker volume. It should show you a diagram of a monitor with the amount of speakers it has selected shown next to it. Where it says Speaker Setup, click and then scroll down until you see 3 settings labeled Monitor Stereo, Monitor Stand Stereo, and Monitor Mounted Stereo. Whatever one enables the sound will be the one you want to stick with.

Installed new monitor, lost my sound

If your previous monitor had built in speakers and your new monitor does not you are going to have to purchase new speakers. If your new lcd monitor has an audio input you can purcahse a sterio mini jack cable for under $10 at any store that sells computer stuff (circuit city, best buy, walmart, target, etc). Simply plug one end into your monitor and the other end into your computers audio output jack (usually color coded green). Now of course if that monitor does not have built in speakers your only option is to purcahse a set of speakers for the computer. These usually start at around $15.
