Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I had the same problem. Dont you alcohol though as it can remove the protective film on the lenz. go to a chemist and just buy some standard lenz cleaner, apply it to a cotton tip and clean the lense in small circular motions. Then dry the lenz with a clean dry cotton tip in small circular motion.

I would remove the cover and clean the glass laser eye with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab.
Cleaning usually works, when it doesn't work, then it usually means the laser lens circuit is faulty or the system firmware/software needs to be upgraded/updated
