Question about Heating & Cooling

On my Amana thermostat, the word ''battery'' is showing. I have not seen that before. I changed the three AA batteries in the console, yet ''battery'' is still showing. Any advice?

Clean the battery contacts...if they are fine then make sure the batteries you put in are new...if they are then the thermostat is simply defective....as long as it functions normally ignore the battery symbol....you will simply have no warning when the batteries are weak....change them once a year to be safe

Thermostat

Add a comment and describe brand, type and model of product. And what this product does. Is this a thermostat?
Also say if this is new installation or older installation
If you have Honeywell thermostat, then model number and AA battery are located on back of device. Replace battery.
Web search your model number and include .pdf in search parameter to obtain product manual, Use Ctrl+f to word-search manual for troubleshoot section. And view manual for illustrations showing location of battery.

Most wall mounted thermostats use a single AA Alkaline battery to power the thermostat. There should be a panel or door on the thermostat housing that slides open to change the battery.

Amana thermostat, is there a battery to change?

No. They may not be batteries. Many electronic thermostats use capacitors that are not removable. Some thermostats still use batteries but not all. Check with the user's manual of your thermostat for detailed information on use and troubleshooting.

    Good Luck! :-)
