I would presume so. the sensors and roller might have come loose. you could do registration test on the machine

How do I fix a paper jam when the paper is pulling at an angle from the paper tray? Canon pixma mx432

You might try cleaning the rollers that pull in the paper. I use alcohol and a swab. Let the rollers dry before running paper through.

Cannot remove the paper jam

To clear the message Paper Jam from the display, follow the steps listed below:

NOTE: images shown below are from a representative product and may differ from your Brother machine.

STEP A. Check for and remove any jammed paper or foreign objects in the machine

  1. Unplug the Brother machine from the power outlet.

Caution Before you unplug the machine from the power source, you can transfer your faxes that are stored in the memory to your PC or another fax machine so you will not lose any important messages. Refer to the Related FAQs in the end of the page for information. (only for applicable models)

  2. Lift the scanner cover using the plastic tabs or finger holds, located on the left and right side of the machine until it locks securely into the open position.

    jam_coveropen.gif

Caution DO NOT touch the encoder strip. The encoder strip is a clear plastic strip in front of the white vinyl band (outlined in red as shown in the picture below). If the encoder gets markings or debris on its surface, it may cause other problems.

  3. Verify the location of the print head. The print head is a black square object, located behind the encoder strip. The print head moves from left to right.

  4. Move the print head to the middle using your fingers.

Caution DO NOT touch the encoder strip (marked in red shown below).

  5. Check for and remove any ripped paper or a foreign object in the left corners or underneath the print head.

Hint The ripped paper may be very small. Using a flashlight will help you to find the ripped paper.

  6. Turn the machine around and open the Jam Clear Cover (1). Look inside the machine and remove any jammed paper.

  13. Look in-between each of the black exit rollers for a piece of stuck scrap paper. (A flash light may need to be used if you are having trouble locating the paper scrap).

  14. Using a pair of tweezers, the paper scrap can be easily removed from the exit rollers.

  15. Place the machine gently down onto the surface.

    • If no paper scraps were found inside the machine, please check the paper in the tray. If the paper is slightly curled, the print head will catch the edge of the paper and tear it. To resolve the issue, the paper in the tray must be replaced and continue to STEP 16.

    • If paper scraps were found and removed from the machine, continue to STEP 16.

  16. Put the paper tray back into the machine.

  1. Plug the power cord back into the power outlet and wait for the machine to stop making noises.

  2. Press the Stop/Exit key for approximately 5 seconds until the print head moves to the middle.

  3. Unplug the machine from the power outlet.

Caution Make sure to unplug the machine. The print head may move and injure your hand. Before you unplug the machine, you can transfer your faxes that are stored in the memory to your PC or another fax machine so you will not lose any important messages. Refer to the Related FAQs in the end of the page for information. (only for applicable models)

  4. Examine the right side of the machine where the print head had been positioned and underneath the print head and remove any pieces of ripped paper or foreign objects.

Tweezers may be used with caution to remove paper scraps or the foreign objects.

Hint The ripped paper may be very small. Using a flashlight will help you to find the ripped paper.

  5. After confirm the paper scraps or the foreign objects in the right corners or underneath the print head, go to STEP 6.

I have a paper jam. Some of the paper is still stuck in the rollers. Machine said to open back door. I did and can see the pieces of paper but when I try to pull them out with a pair of needle nose...

HI, Try to roll gently and slowly the paper roller and pull the piece of paper in the same time. Grab the piece of paper close to the roller to prevent tearing. Good luck!

Paper feeds improperly

Check the rollers at the back of the paper tray. You likely will find one that has a coating of "paper dust" that prevents it from grabbing pages as well as the other roller does, causing pages to be skewed. Clean off the roller with an old toothbrush, but don't use alcohol as it tends to dry out the rubber component.

Printer reports that it needs to be aligned. However when I follow instructions to do so it doesn't fix the problem. The printer will print on a slight angle and then the paper jams when it gets to the end...

You seem to have a paper feeder problem, or the paper adjustments in the input paper tray are not set properly, if they are try cleaning all the feed and drive rollers you can get at. Try different paper.

My printer is pulling paper through @ an angle & jamming. what can i clean or do to solve this problem?

the rollers have become smooth and shiny from ink. Clean both the paper guides and the platten with alcohol. you can even roughen them up slightly by using a plastic pot mit. Do not scrub just light rub to remove some of the smoothness so they grip paper evenly

When going to print paper is pulled in angled and jams thanks

i do not know the model of the printer that you have, but the most common problem is that you have something stuck in the area where the paper is not being pulled in. You might have a small piece of paper jammed in there or some foreign object. It is also possible your sensor is jammed and the paper is hitting it.

Lastly, if you have 2 pickup rollers (depends on the printer that you have), one could be worn out.

thanks adi

Paper will not feed from drawer

Pull the paper tray out of the machine. On the right side underneath you should see a rubber paper feed roller. Clean this off with a slightly damp cloth until it is "squeaky clean". Also, look about to be sure there is nothing blocking the paper path. Sometimes paper gets torn off and left in the machine when clearing a jam.
