Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
YES the Aspire R1600 can be upgraded to 4GB of DDR2 800mhz easily, and I broke no stickers to enter the unit. Here are the websites. with good internal info and photos for R1600. http://tjdmobile.wordpress.com/2009/11/18/acer-r1600-retired-my-appletv-3-0/ http://netbooked.net/netbook-reviews/review/acer-aspire-revo-review/ Solid-PC needs to research more before they answer. I just installed a second 1GB SODIMM in my Aspire R1600 and it works perfectly. Recognized with no issues on bootup and currently shows 1.75GB physical RAM. (256MB is shared for the GPU, unless this setting is changed in BIOS to 512MB.)

I just added a second 1GB chip to my R1600. It booted up without error. Windows only shows 1.75GB in the My Computer properties but it runs 100% faster.

Above comment is not true. Reviews of this unit have people telling that they have upgraded to 2 gigs, and / or added larger hard drive. Trick is finding the solution.
