Question about Neff H7871N2GB Convection / Microwave Oven

1 Answer

GE JVM1350WW My unit is not working, no lights, nothing.  I have power to the fuse directly behind the control panel.  The parts list calls out 2 fuses but I can only find one.  The diagram at http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=216841 says there are 2 fuses but the drawing only shows one.  Where is the other one?

That listing is confusing, but they show two fuses but both with the same reference number of 1626.

There are also two thermostats (aka "switch, t-stat") at refs 1430 & 1431 which may be open. They should be normally closed.

One is on the magnetron (the one I suspect) and the other monitors the cooking cavity.

The one on the floor of the chassis should be normally closed. It is the flame sensor.

There should be a very helpful "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel. It's very helpful when troubleshooting & testing parts.

I have a GE profile XL Sensor VM 1350BW that will not go on fuse is ok, any suggestions? thank you

There are 2 thermal limit controls inside that if at any point the microwave got too hot they will go out like a fuse. One is mounted directly on the side of what is called the MAG TUBE directly behind the control panel. The second one is mounted against the cavity either on the left side or on the top middle. These are round thermal limits about the size of a dime with 2 wires attached to each one. Can't tell by looking at them if they are bad. Need an ohm meter to test. I usually jump the 2 wires together for a few seconds to see if if the microwave control panel lights up. If it does thats the bad one. You must replace the bad one since it is a safety feature.

Have GE Spacemaker XL1800, Had a power outage & now it wont power up. No lights or anything. Checked the 2 fuses behind the control panel & both were good. Any other suggestions or should I just chuck it.

In addition to the fuse(s), it will have one or two thermostats (aka "thermal cutouts" or "TCOs") which can open, resulting in a loss of power.
There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.
dee77f7.jpg You can see a video here showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
Along with the video there, you can find information on getting your controller repaired, if that's what's required.
You find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.
Accessing some parts may require you to pull the oven from the wall and remove the cover.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

GE microwave oven not working

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
No Lights or Power, Unit seems Dead First check is the main fuse of the unit. On countertop units, you will need to take the shell off. The fuse will be close to where the cord comes through into the unit. OTR units, this main fuse is usually behind the control panel or possibly behind the vent. Usually the fuse is obvious if blown, otherwise test with an OHM meter, if open, replace fuse.
Some brands will also have a thermal cut-off fuse in the incoming voltage line to the control board. Older Maytags and Samsungs have this fuse in it. This thermostat looking fuse is usually above the oven cavity somewhere under the outside shell. Sometimes you can get to it through the vent of OTR models. Test with an OHM meter, replace if open.

Touchpad dead If you have a stuck key or non-responsive key, most of the time you will have to replace the keypad for this microwave oven repair. If your keypad is connected to your control board by a flat ribbon wire, try disconnecting it and clean the silver contacts with an ordinary pencil eraser. After cleaning, plug it back in and try it. If it doesn't fix it, replace the keypad unit. Some units actually have keypad tests to confirm your diagnosis of a bad key.
If your keypad and control is the same unit, replace that unit. Another note, unlike stove/oven keypads and controls, most microwaves do not have error codes or tests to distinguish whether it is truely the keypad or control. Most of the time, it is the keypad that needs replacing, but a small percentage of the time it can be the control. Check the tech sheet if they can point you to the right part.

It may be a loose fuse holder or a rare condition, an intermittent fuse.

You will need to remove the top grill vent first, then you can remove the screws coming in from the top of the grille vent then that will expose a screw holding down the control panel at the top. Remove the screw and remove the control panel. The fuse is located in a little 1" fuse holder just behind the front panel near the top.

Convection microwave oven suddenly stopped

If there is no power to the unit at all, no lights, no nothing, but there is power at the outlet, then you are most likely going to need a new board. the Electronic control board controls everythign on that unit. I woudl call GE direct for service, adn depending how old it is they may be willing to give a parts and or parts & labor concession - they are usually pretty good about that kinda stuff.

There is a fuse and cavity thermal fuses as well as one on the magnatron that is supposed to reset itself.. The fuse is behind the control panel and the cavity fuses will require removal of the cabinet. Did you check for power at the plug?

Intenal Fuses for Lights

In some cases, it may be the fuse, which is usually located behind the grille or on the floor of the oven behind the control panel or between the door switches.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

In some cases, a light failure where a bulb shorts can damage the control board itself.

If the problem is on the control panel, we regularly repair these for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week.

Need to replace Thermostat or Thermal fuse

GE calls them TCOs or thermal cutouts.

There are three in this model and they can all be ordered here.

The reference numbers relate to the drawing here.

REF# PART# DESC

111 WB27X1127 TCO -BOTTOM

59 WB27X10195 TCO -CAVITY

104 WB27X10194 TCO - HOOD

101 WB27X10388 FUSE

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing. It usually shows relative component layout.

Seems like I've answered this one, too.

Two 20A fuses?? In a recent GE?

The interlock is a door switch, not a thermostat or thermal fuse. A thermostat will reset (unless defective) but thermal cutouts and thermal fuses are one-time devices.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
