I want to connect speakers, but the plug in to RCA audio jacks yield no sound. Do they need to be turned on ?If so, how. How can I connect Headphones to TV. Please call me if possible. I am a 76 year...

I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing in connecting Speakers to the TV. Unfortunately, the audio output of the TV is not intended to connect direct speakers. Hence you may have to get a Receiver or Amplifier to connect the speakers to the TV. You can get the compatible Amplifier for your speaker from your nearest Electronics Shop. Please tell the wattage rating of the Speaker and they should be able to provide one compatible amplifier.

Alternately, you may purchase a Home Theater System to use with the TV. It comes with Receiver/Amplier and Speakers.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if you require any clarifications.

Just purchased Bose Companion 2 speakers and I'm having difficulty connecting to my dell computer. Can you help?

What you need to do is connect your green audio jack from your speakers into the green audio connection at the back of your computer and you should have sorted it out :-)

Im not sure if its the computer or the speakers but i cant hear anything?and there on and look fine, just cant hear anything?

Make sure the speaker connection is connected in back of the cpu. Check device manager to see that the audio and all hardware is working properly. Open up sound from the control panel classic view sound to see if sound is working. Just a couple of ideas.

Im trying to connect studio monitors directly to a desktop computer

This will not work. You are missing an Amplifier in the middle. Your computer does not have a built in amplifier to push those monitors. You need to connect the computer to an amplifier, then the moniters to that amplifier. You don't need an expensive amplifier either. You will also need a cord that has a red and white audio end, and on the other end is a simple headphone jack end. This is what I use. Works great.

Just need to know how to hook up proper for stereo sound

start with the right speaker, that is you control for now. plug in the power supply one end to the wall the other to the right speaker, connect the left and right speakers, connect the sub woofer to the right speaker, (most of the plug and sockets are color coded, or at least different sockets sizes so they will only fit properly with the correct connector) now you should have one wire left coming out of the right speaker-that gets connected into the GREEN socket of you computer.
Now you should get sound...good it works.
And that my friend is properly done.
enjoy,,, please leave a rating, thank you

There should be a pink / green coloured ports that let you connect your speakers. Some desktops have it right in the front and some behind the tower. Plug it in there.. should work.
