First shut off the gas, water and power(unplug it) Take off the cover There are about 20 screws above the electrical circuit board . You have to remove all of those screws to remove plate that is covering the burner assembly. The burner assembly has these 3 pins that look like number 7's these are covered with build up and gas can't flow right. That's why you get the c211 error not enough gas. Take a wire brush and gently remove any build up, I also cleaned the thermocoupler which is next to the burners. It looks like a metal pin with a couple of wires coming out of it this was also very dirty. I took a can of air and basically freshened it up It works perfect now. All that you need is a long phillips screw drive and a drill because its about 25 screws the burner assembly has 2 screws all in the back, underneath the assembly once you remove those 2 the assembly comes out . You don't have to disconnect any wires.

Good Luck

Actually, to get to the back two flame rods, you have to remove the burner assembly, which means remove the pc board (connectors only go back on the correct slot), remove the upper gas lines and loosen the lower gas lines. You can get the engineering manual from the Paloma site, which details major component removal. I sanded the flame rods and igniters and brushed the burner with a stiff paintbrush. When reassembled, it worked like a champ and better than it had for a long time.

My Ariston 4 gallon water heater is given out hot dirty water?... Any Suggestions?

1) Dirty water implies degraded metal inside unit:
The anode rod protects metal parts. Once anode is depleted, metal parts react with water.

Bosch 250 sx ng tankless water heater showing error code. checked fuses and they are fine. tried resetting many times still not working

BOSCH error codes:
http://www.boschhotwater.com/HelpfulResources/TechnicalSupport/BoschAquaStarModels/2400ESTechSupport/Troubleshooting/tabid/1295/Default.aspx

Best place to start is troubleshoot section in manual. Page 24
http://www.boschhotwater.com/Portals/7/TechManuals/250SX_English.pdf

Problems range from air supply, gas supply, venting, part failure or combination of listed things.
Don't forget, tankless require yearly maintenance, outlined in manual, and cannot be exposed to more than 11 grains hardness in water, and should be de-limed each year.

All costs are energy.
I suggest reading entire manual several times, so you are pro about your tankless water heater.
Even with this knowledge, trained service technician will have to be consulted
some day, and tankless should never be installed if factory trained technician not available in area.

Bosch has online tech support form:

Tankless water heater water will not come out hot enough

1) Read your manual

2) De-lime unit on yearly basis:
Search google and Utube for 'de-lime tankless'
They make special fittings that permanently attach to water ports so you can delime each year.
Research shows that reqular de-liming will not restore tankless efficiency.
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Delime-tankless-water-heater.pdf

3) Typical manual shows temp information on page 22-23. Search pdf for 'temp'
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Rheem-RTG74IndoorOutdoor_owners.pdf

4) Read maintenance steps shown in manual
The word maintenance appears throughout the manual

5) Search fixya questions on tankless to glean information about your unit:
Older answers have more responses, and each seems varied as techniques succeed for one person but not another.

Is my water heater still under warranty leaking water on top of heater and out from bottom and from plate

1) If water heater is leaking, I suggest you protect yourself first.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Emergency-steps-for-leaking-water-heater.html

2) You have to do some work to find out if tank is under warranty.
-Contact manufacturer: http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-manufacturers.html
-Contact installer: If plumber installed heater, then installer backs warranty for some manufacturers. If you installed heater, then warranty is less or void
-Look at paperwork and manual that came with water heater and read about warranty coverage
-Look at markings on tank to see if tank is 6 year, 15 year etc
-Warranty is based on date of manufacture: To find date of water heater, look at serial number located on label on side of tank:
Open link below for serial number decoder by manufacturer.
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/WaterHeaterSerialNumberDecoder.pdf

3) If tank is older than 6 years, and tank label shows this is a 6-year tank, then tank is no longer under warranty.
If you have a lifetime tank, then warranty is in effect, so contact manufacturer.

Open following link to see troubleshoot checklist for leaking water heater:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Leaking-water-heater.html

Other things to consider:
-If tank rusted out after a few years and installer did not install a jumper wire between hot and cold pipes, then tank warranty will probably not cover tank.
-If tank rusted out and you have water softener, and did not inspect anode rod or maintain water heater, then you did not read manual or maintain heater, and warranty might not cover problem.
-I suggest you read water heater manual cover to cover so water heater will not start leaking.

21vp50-1 rheem water heater, the ignitor is not working

1) Rheem does not show that exact model number, since they list current products only.
http://www.rheem.com/products/tank_water_heaters/gas_water_heaters

2) Rheem serial number shows year of manufacture on second 2 digits. So C06 was made in 2006.
Today's manual might not have troubleshoot steps that match older product.

3) 21vp50 is 50 gallon power vent water heater.
Open following link to identify product.
New models have Honeywell electronic gas valve with LCD flashing error codes.

4) Sample manual for newer power vent models shows error codes and troubleshoot steps:
http://globalimageserver.com/fetchDocument.aspx?id=a92c7d0e-8a95-48ba-8810-cd714f33d47a

PART #HSI51409A

6) Your manual should show troubleshoot steps and expanded parts list.
Always save manuals like gold, and save searching later for a manual at Fixya.
If we can't find the manual, then our answers are limited to suggestions and guesses, since we're not on-site and can't perform troubleshoot steps for you.

7) Post your question on professional water heater forum

8) Call Rheem and they can possibly suggest which local service technician will work on that model:
2600 Gunter Park Drive East
Montgomery, Alabama 36109-1413
Phone: 1-800-432-8373.

9) Call a local plumber.

Sounds like a tripped reset button:
Photo below shows typical generic upper thermostat.
Open top cover on water heater, and push in red reset button.
Power is live on the terminals, so use wood stick and push reset inward very hard.
Put insulation and covers back over thermostat when finished to avoid cool air from influencing thermostat.
Reset as many times as you want, no harm is being done to heater.

You probably have a bad thermostat.
I suggest replacing both upper and lower thermostats for $28:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-replace-thermostat-on-electric-water-heater.html

Ordinary tank-type electric water heater is fully repairable by homeowner without needing service technician. Use simple tools and generic parts from hardware-store.

Water may stay hot for 5 minutes then gets cold. water heater often blows breaker or pop out switch.

I suggest taking 30 minutes and testing water heater parts.
Right away we know 2 things:
-Electricity to heater is good.
-Upper element is receiving power because you have some hot water. If upper element was burned out, you would have no hot water.

That leaves 5 suspects:
Upper thermostat.
Lower thermostat.
Loose or shorted wire.
Upper element shorted to ground near center of element.
Lower element shorted or damaged in some manner.

Buy $10 milti-meter from Home Center or hardware
When test calls for testing voltage, rotate multimeter dial to 240-250-277 VAC.
When test calls for testing elements or continuity, rotate multimeter dial to Ohms.
Take 30 minutes and go down page.
Test will identify problem(s) and show how to fix it yourself.
